Domenicos — Restaurant in Beloit

Surprisingly poor service following some minor renovations after years of above average service.

1. Following a typical greeting and seating, our party ordered our drinks. We sat a visited for a few minutes and our drinks arrived. I realized I left my cell phone in the car and quickly left to get it returning no more than 45 seconds later. Another member of our party took a quick vape break, again gone only a minute. I had returned and our routes crossed passed each other as I returned to our table.

Another party was seated in our booth, their drinks served, and our belongings removed. These new people in our seats laughed at me for leaving a jacket and my friends phone at the booth we were first seated, making an embarrassingly awkward situation.

2. host and server offered to reseat us in another booth rather than reseating the booth stealers. The also offered to replace the drinks complimentary.

3. We agreed to be reseated ONLY for complimentary beverages AND 10% off our bill. They agreed that would be no problem as it was such an awkward and embarrassing situation for us.

4. the food was delicious as usual, but very little attention was given us, nor the regular usual service from the service (refills on sodas etc)

5. The bill came. No complimentary drinks ... full priced charged. No 10% reduction in bill as agreeded upon. We waited to pay for 15 minutes, but staff were busy with their own conversation.

We paid the bill with cash for the exact amount. No tip as service was so very poor and the pre agreed upon charges were not honoured.

6. while I used to come in at least once a week plus held lunch/dinner meetings at Domenicos, I cannot in good conscious support a business that does not respect their customers nor honour their agreements. Another Beloit restaurant has been contracted to host a series of 6 medium sized groups (50-75) and has guaranteed in writing to do better than Domenicos.

7. finally, I hope Domenicos will reflect upon their newer ways of doing business and return to the quality, honest, and respectable service and customer care that they knew...

I enjoy coming to this establishment for lunch or dinner. We usually order the buffet option when it's available and their seated customer service is great and so is their their catering, with the exception of the phone ordering process because whomever takes the order always seems confused and has to have someone call us back to clarify what we are ordering.

Their portions are generous and flavor is pleasing to our taste buds. They have a variety of options for just about anyone's preference and pricing is average, won't empty your pockets. However, they seem slightly unprepared for large events.

I have attended/hosted approximately 6 events. With each event, we have had to tell the server that we were missing place settings at tables and serving utensils for our meals. We have also had to find them to replace empty food trays and we never seem to have enough desserts. We've always had to make an additional purchase outside of what we reserved for, which for budgeting purposes, is inconvenient. I've even searched for servers with these same requests for events that I am solely a guest at because I see the frustration and disappointment in the hosts/guest faces, so I try to help.

The owner and staff are very friendly and the servers don't seemed to be bothered by the frequent requests for service, however they also don't seem to notice how inconvenient and easily rectifyable their process is to make events run more smoothly.

I plan to return, with limited affordable in-house catering/event options in this area, I am just not sure about them being my first...

Ordered online, got partial food delivered fast but was missing 4 items but cost was almost exact same as what was delivered and I guess seen on there end don't know, 4 items missed but same overall cost for items recieved, called they didn't seem to understand so we are out meals. What was delivered, the baked mostaccioli was very runny like old was scooped out of buffee cheese put over top and barely melted, we put it under broiler for a few minutes but was runny and suppose to be a meat sauce but this wasn't fresh. 2 pieces garlic toast obviously old flimsy cold. Shrimp dish was OK but again think it wasn't fresh made not for awhile. Dessert was good. Authentic Italian sauce? I just think what we did recieve wasn't any where near fresh. Called there didn't seem to be an understanding we paid full price of what we ordered online, there order in there end showed the same minus 4 items but in all we paid the same. Unless there online menu rates are well different than there actual prices. Wasn't impressed with what we did get, spent 50 bucks not enough food for 2 average old folks we was so wanting left overs but e ended up having some cereal how sad.
