So me and my uncle was going to the Belton IHOP to eat I got country fried steak and eggs and he got some avocado ranch hamburger. Our food came out came out with pancakes which I was really confused cause I didn’t order pancakes so I asked my server I said what are those and he said their pancakes they come with it and I said oh I’m so sorry I can I get something different. He’s like you could’ve but that’s what you ordered and I said no I forgot they came with anything actually And I don’t eat wet soggy bread and he got loud with me and told me I needed to eat what I ordered. All I wanted was bread instead of pancakes, so I simply asked to speak to a manager. He kept being rude and disrespectful to me, so I just kept saying, may you please speak to manager may you please speak to manager, may please speak to manager And he told me I am what can I do for you? How can I help you? You’re gonna eat this food that’s what you ordered so I told my uncle that we were leaving. He got really mad about that and he said no you need to eat this food. I’m not your survey anymore so I went up and I got a manager. I guess I don’t know. She said she was filling in for the manager, whatever that means but I told her when I was talking to her the server came by said something to me and I just said sir I really don’t wanna talk to you. I’m so sorry. Thank you and he told me well quit communicating with me at this point I wasn’t even talking to him. I didn’t even want nothing to do with him. He’s a very rude so I don’t know how the food tasted. I don’t know anything about that. I do know their soda is good. That’s the only thing I know what would be good but I do know the service sucks. The people that work there are mean mean, mean that one I should not be in customer service at all and the bad thing is I’m a good tipper even if you give me not so good service or excellent service I will tip because I know these people don’t make much money And I wanna help but I would say that if you want to eat IHOP stay away from the Belton location. It is very bad. It is very poor poorly ran and poor. Poor customer service if I could, I wouldn’t of gave them a star for anything but you have to at least give one star, but I would say if you want IHOP go to Grandview I come to Grandview well I came to Grandview today after leaving the Belton one and these people are really nice so stay away from Belton I forgot to add to when I was talking to the manager. This waiter guy came back over and told his manager why the hell do I have to read her? The menu and the so-called manager was trying to get him to go away he wanted he just kept being rude and mean to me And I wasn’t asking to get the mini read to me. I didn’t realize they still came with pancakes all of us over has to do is ask you what you want and then ask if the pancakes on the side would be OK I would’ve said no. Can I get bread toast whatever but he did not. He...
Read moreWhen you go to IHOP, you generally have certain expectations of that type of restaurant. You know what kind of breakfast you're going for and how the coffee will generally taste with the normal creamers and pink/yellow/blue sweeteners. The syrup is going to taste like it usually does and the atmosphere is the same at any of these chains most of the time.
With the exception of the environment, everything here was markedly worse.
We grabbed our own high chair because the others still had copious amounts of food stuck to them. When I say that, I'm not being picky with a little here and there, no, it was CAKED with whatever food rememants dry as white and tan colored. We cleaned the one we picked just in case with a baby wipe and hand sanitizer, necessity mother of invention and all that.
Our $16 omelette tasted like it was leftover from three days ago and the shredded cheese came from the same plastic that makes up the cheese blocks at an IKEA. The hash browns were ever so lightly browned on the outside and warm, wet, and soggy on the inside, not unlike a sponge that was left on the lower rack of a malfunctioning dish washer. There was no amount of hot sauce or ketchup that could make any of it edible.
The waffle was mildly okay, but adding the syrup was a mistake. I've never had syrup that was THAT old but I don't think I would ever be a fan of syrup that was aged like whiskey in a barrel. The eggs were ordered overhard and the sausage tasted about what you would expect, which was the only redeeming quality of this breakfast.
My kid had pancakes and I did not taste them, but he ate them - which really isn't a testament to anything; the kid is a garbage disposal so he's probably going to have a lunch of nothing but veges to compensate for this morning.
The staff was as nice as normal, except when I walked up to pay. They scattered like teens about to be caught smoking. I didn't stand there an abnormal amount of time, but it wasn't exactly inconspicuous that the second I turned around to walk up and pay, the multiple people who were watching me pack up disappeared to go find work elsewhere.
All said and done, a meal for two people and a 1 year old was $43 after tip. It will absolutely be the last $43 I give to IHOP until my kid decides he wants to experience it's horror after a night of drinking for his...
Read moreMy husband and I took our granddaughters this evening for dinner at belton ihop. Upon entering the building there was a sewer smell. I asked the host why. He stated they were working on a backup in one of the bathrooms and it should be taken care of soon. The smell was not detectable once seated. He apologized again and assured us it would be taken care of. This was the only reason for the 4 stars given for a rating.
We were seated by this very polite young man and as luck would have it he was our server as well. (The entire restaurant was empty) obviously we were waited on immediately and then served in a timely manner. I ordered eggs Benedict which is new to shop. Delicious!! Hubby had a sandwich and the granddaughters the chocolate smiley face pancakes! Our server returned twice during our meal which is appropriate. He anticipated the extra napkins that were going to be needed with two young children and refills for drinks were prompt. He was very attentive. Now some may say of course he was because Noone else was in the restaurant. However, I tend to believe he was attentive because he was polite and courteous in his nature and not just with my family. Our dinner was a very happy time for our little four-some. We could have had dinner anywhere in town. My husband and I had been aware that Ihop had some not-so-nice reviews lately and we had noticed the parking lot was mostly empty at times. It was getting a little late and the girls were due home soon. Ihop seemed like a great choice since we knew we would probably not have a wait. I'm so glad we chose Ihop. Not only did we not have a wait but the service was great and the food was fantastic and the restaurant well kept (plumbing issues happen everywhere and every day.) Prices were affordable. As we were leaving I had the opportunity to speak to our server and the cook together and told them they were appreciated. (It showed in our tip!) They were told to...
