Update: I want to say that I appreciate the response from the owner and have updated to a 4 star based on the information provided in the response. I never want to stiff anyone on a tip, but knowing that there's not really dedicated staff makes tipping percentage a bit different. Maybe it was an off day for the tenders :)
Original: After some debate, I decided to go ahead and leave a review. I don't want to hurt this business but want to inform others and hopefully give some suggestions for improvement.
You have to pay up front, of course that includes the option to tip. Since I didn't have cash, I had to tip on my card and tipped in the high teens. The waitress came by to bring our food, it took two trips so let's say she came by twice during the course of our meal. I feel a bit ripped off by the sub par service.
The appetizers were ok. Presentation was nice! The adult meals were ok, nothing I would return for but nothing to complain about either.
My biggest issue is the kids' meals. Kids' meals are $8-9. Not a terrible price for a restaurant but the quality is awful. I understand that the chef likely doesn't specialize burgers and fries but at least buy the higher quality frozen chicken and burgers. The chicken "tenders" are low grade rib meat. Not real chicken tenders. The "hand formed patty" certainly doesn't taste like a fresh burger.
If you want families to dine here, please think of what you are feeding our children. They shouldn't be an afterthought. Especially when the adult meals are so pricey
Pros: Nice atmosphere. Great presentation, food looks very pretty.
Cons: Service isn't great. Bring cash for a tip. Food is just ok. Kids' chicken and burger...
Read moreGreat food, great service, a little expensive After an exhausting journey to our parent’s home, we found ourselves craving dinner and chanced upon Mosaic Grill in Belton, TX. The choice was made easier thanks to the persuasive online reviews. The ambiance of the place struck us immediately; it had a simple, almost 'Plain Jane' diner feel, but what caught our eye was the impressive array of beer taps lining one wall, showcasing a fine selection. The warm welcome we received upon entering was a breath of fresh air, with Desirae eagerly inquiring if it was our first visit, which indeed it was.
Desirae was an absolute treasure. Her friendly demeanor and expert guidance through ordering made our experience memorable. I'm already looking forward to returning if only to enjoy her excellent service again.
As for the meal, we savored both the beef and chicken shawarma wraps, accompanied by fries. The wraps were tantalizingly seasoned, bursting with flavors that were further enhanced by the delectable garlic sauce. However, my husband found the wrapping technique slightly inconvenient as the wrap itself tended to unravel upon peeling the paper back. Now, onto the fries - as someone who considers themselves a connoisseur of French fries, I can confidently say these were sublime, boasting a perfect balance of crispy exteriors and soft, fluffy interiors. It was nothing short of fry nirvana.
In conclusion, Mosaic Grill earns a solid 4-star rating from us. While the meal was delightful and Desirae's service was exceptional, the prices were somewhat steep even with its selection of beers. Nonetheless, it's a culinary experience...
Read moreThis was the worst $60 I ever spent. Everything was one note in flavor, with the taste of Seasoning salt on EVERYTHING. We had the etoufee, the mosaic queso fries, and the mosaic meat pita. All of it was awful. We powered through it since we were on a roadtrip and starving but we will not be returning. Less than attentive employees who looked bored out of their mind, and didn't even help a gentleman open a door when he was struggling with his walker. The only saving grace were the beverages. A cherry type soda and a Mosaic specialty lemonade.
Update to review since managers response:
Thank you managers for being willing to review the tape and assess what I was saying. I hope you took the same diligence to review the chefs cooking and please ask that you take the same diligence in reading what I said carefully. I didn't say you USED seasoning salt, I said it tasted LIKE it. Which basically means very salty up front with a tang/pucker. Everything lacked a citrus or acidic component. And as far as the host/cashier, she watched as that man walked up TO the door as well, (which is more than 16 seconds). I'm not going to further split hairs on my experience. I see a lack of training and room for improvement. Since I've been more than 15 years in the service and hospitality industry. Take the critiques and work WITH them, instead of justify everything. Im hoping it was just an off day for your staff. Thank you for your well wishes on...
