Royal Gyros — Restaurant in Belton

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. We went there in May 2018, I have a service dog. As we walked in(we were the only customer at the time) the owner look at me and told me that I HAD to leave my service dog outside or in my car as he worked with his Children, and they were afraid of dogs. We were not asked if we were placing an order to eat there or to go! I tried to politely inform him that my dog was a service dog( I carry a letter from my doctor for cases just like this) plus my dog wears a service vest and I’d collar, and that he was not able to refuse my dog from coming just because his child was afraid. By this time there were several other customers, his “child” a girl about 19, came forward as my husband took my dog from me and walked out,and started to yell at me to leave because she was afraid and they were refusing to serve me. A long time ago, I got food poisoning from a gyro place at Crown Center and it put me off gyros for quite a while. I work near this place and went in just to get a soda. I was afraid it would upset my stomach just being in there, but the smell was actually quite appetizing. A while later, I talked myself in to giving it a shot.

One of the best choices I have ever made. Not only was it the best gyro I've ever had, but it was one of the best meals I've ever had. The tzatziki sauce they use is incredible, their hummus is fantastic, and their fries are even delicious. And the service was polite, responsive, and fairly quick, given the number of people that were there. This is a wonderful place to support local. The food is fresh and delicious. The proprietor is very friendly. He is informative about the food and its mediterranean origins. I recommend the yellow rice it is Slightly aromatic but not overpowering. The tzatziki sauce is delicious and fresh. The salad is super amazing. The steak is tender. I got a mixed plate and the meats were flavorful. It also comes with a delicious hummus, which I highly recommend. It is creamy and excellent. They make the food fresh as you wait and it is worth it.
