What an awesome way to cap off the first night of our trip to Bend! The cashier was very friendly and personable, which was refreshing after encountering a number of less-than-kind people today in Bend. We asked for recommendations and were given a detailed explanation of what is popular here. Our food was made promptly and they even offered to put the hotter sauces on the side since we have young children. We were given plates and plenty of napkins, which was a nice touch considering we hadn’t even asked for them. We got the chicken parmesan pizza and the sausage pizza. Both were amazing, especially the sausage. The doughnut holes were fantastic. I expected them to be golf-ball sized, but they were at least 3x that and so fluffy, like no doughnuts we’d ever had! To top everything off, I had to call after our visit to see if I could get a receipt since I needed it and had forgotten to get one when I ordered. They kindly took my information and texted me my receipt. They even called me back to make sure I got it. Most restaurants would take such a request as a nuisance, but not Kitchen Window. We were blown away by their service and will surely...
Read moreThis pizza is pretty nuts. For me, deep dish is in an entirely different category to a more traditional Napolitan or NY style pizza, but this is definitely at the top of the deep dish category in town. The toppings are executed to perfection and the flavor profiles and combinations are spot on. The spicy chicken parm pizza is not something I would traditionally order, but now I will surely be craving it any time I am supremely hungry. The dough is as good as advertised. Flavorful, crispy, just the right amount of chewiness.
My one and only suggestion is it would be so sick if they served pizza by the slice here, if only for a couple types of pies. With the excellent location that they have, walking over and grabbing a slice between pints at the local brew pub would be such a game changer to...
Read moreWe ate the pizzas so fast I forgot to take a photo. We got the Broccoli and Mushroom with red sauce and the chicken vodka sauce one with pineapple subbed in (we were veggie people). They were very accommodating of our requests on the phone and the first bite of pizza with the house made ranch after a long drive nearly made us rapture.
I'm not a super prideful New Yorker, but I do hold our pizza in high esteem, especially when it comes to crust – which I find to be the most lacking part of pizza and bread outside the city. This crust was awesome – soft and fluffy with substance in the middle, satisfying crispy bottom crust, toppings and sauce were high quality. I will miss this pizza even when I return to pizza central....
