The Lot — Restaurant in Bend

I just wanted to give a shout-out to the woman working the bar at the Lot today, 7/14/21. My husband and I were eating lunch and the couple next to us was violating OLCC rules by bringing their own alcoholic beverages to the Lot. The bartender was SUPER professional, asked them so politely not to drink their drinks on the premises and went back to the bar. They continued to do so and so she addressed them a second time (again, SO POLITE and very professional). The couple freaked out on her, calling her names and belittling her non-stop, and she kept her cool, staying respectful and explaining everything so well. She could have easily stooped to their level, but she continued treating then kindly while standing her ground.

To the bartender, whoever you are, you did an incredible job handling the terribleness of these customers and you did Bend proud by staying calm and respectful.

Reminder to other customers, be nice to the servers. They're killing...

Went to the lot for a casual celebration. We looked at all of the food trucks and settled on Thailandia. If you are craving Thai, do yourself a favor and go to A Taste of Thailand in East Bend or Tumalo. They are cheaper, have better service and a MUCH higher quality of food.

Thailand was the worst Thai food I've had in years. II'm pretty certain she used store bought green curry paste and threw it in a pot with a bag of frozen veggies and some cubed tofu for my dish. My boyfriend got the drunken noodles, which were also lacking. We didn't even take our leftovers home, just ate what we could and threw it out. Thailandia charges $12 for everything on the menu, even though it says $10 online. To top it all off the owner made comments about how no one tips her. Her default tip is 20% on the iPad - perhaps she would get more tips if she lowered it to 10% or decreased the outrageous cost...

Finally tried this place, and I'm happy I did. It's 4 or so different food trucks, and a separate little bar with craft beer and CBD beverages, all situated around a bunch of tables and benches. So far I've tried the fish sandwich and the fish tacos off Frickin Faco, and the curry pork taco and fries with truffle salt from A La Carte. Everything was super good, I highly recommend both of the tacos I had. A La Carte has little sides of salsa you can grab, the pineapple habanero one is delicious, so definitely grab one of those. Can't wait to come back and try the other carts too.
