We are thrilled Taj has relocated to the southeast side of bend. We’ve been twice in the past week. Looking forward to many more delicious culinary adventures here. The hospitality is refreshingly pleasant and friendly as well as skilled in the art of excellent service. And, the variety of their menu is impressive. We’ve had both the lunch buffet and ordered off the menu. Friday and Saturday is the dinner buffet. I know what I’m doing this weekend!! If you didn’t get a chance to enjoy their delicious exotic food and good company downtown (there’s now plenty of off street parking in their lot!!!), now is your chance to discover these fine people and the cuisine. If you did, you know. Support local😁 *Saturday night dinner buffet. Wow!!!! I could not try everything. I mentioned how varied the choices are to one of the staff, and he smiled and informed me that the entrees change every weekend! My oh my I have a lot of ground to cover here. The parking lot was packed, but there’s plenty, restaurant was very busy at 6:00, and still a few booths available so there’s lots of room here. I watched as walk-ins of 5, 7, 10 were quickly seated. Staff greeted patrons and 90% of customers were repeat patrons and treated like family. It’s so nice to see this kind of hospitality. Food was deeeeeeeelishiussss. They also have a bustling take out. Doesn’t that sound awesome???? I’ll try this next. So far I have only wonderful things to say about Taj Palace. Consistently a delightful experience.

My husband and I have been to Taj Palace Indian Cuisine twice, and we left the restaurant highly impressed both times. One thing that has stood out to me most on both of our visits is how attentive and kind the wait staff are. We have not been left without a refill long at all, and the food comes out actually hot, rather than it sitting in the heating window for any length of time. On our last visit, we ordered the mixed vegetable pakora as our appetizer (picture included). The dish was flavorful enough on its own and so crispy, but the three sauces they provided really blew it out of the wayer. Delicious! Both of us ordered Thali Dinners: I chose the Lamb Kurma (picture attached) and my husband decided on the Lamb Biryani. They bring you a hefty amount of food with the dinners; both of us had leftovers that we took home. The dinners also came with a little mango dessert that was the perfect end to the meal. Prices were quite reasonable. We both had an alcoholic beverage a piece as well, and our total (with tip) came to around $60. Not bad! Definitely stop in for a meal if you're ever in the area!

Food: Tried chicken curry and chili chicken, even though we ordered chicken 65 and they messed it up. The food was decent and the quantity was definitely plenty, although nothing outstanding in taste. The chicken curry was more of a chicken masala instead and the naan felt hard and cold, maybe was made a while ago. The chili chicken was the worst, extremely spicy and just a wierd combination of spices and sauces that didn’t reflect the dish as it should be. Ambiance: Service was just too poor. We arrived on a Thursday around 8.30PM when almost the whole restaurant was empty except a few folks. There was just one person though attending the lobby and doing everything on the floor as well. We had to wait extremely long to place in our orders which they messed up as well, there were dirty dish carts being dragged around on the floor next to where we ate, and no one even came and asked us for water a second time, even when we saw the guys moving around the lobby while no other customers were in. Just not a very good experience. Value for money: 3/5

I am writing in regards to Rohit Bandori's scathing review. My parents own the Wall St Bar that is in the same building as Taj Palace. We have leased the restaurant portion of this space to the same amazing family for 16 years now. They are well known for their incredible hospitality and delicious authentic Indina cuisine. I just wanted to make sure that everyone reading reviews here are informed that his review is full of misinformation and outright lies. If you were to look at his profile and previous reviews you will find he obviously has a dislike for Indian food or something else related since he spouts nothing but hate about both restaurants he has reviewed. Both of which are Indian cuisine.

With all of the discord in the world today I am more than a little disturbed that his reviews are allowed to stay posted with all of the unfounded lies and hatred. The family that owns Taj Palace are not here illegally and have been renting and operating Bend's best Indian restaurant for 16 years.

Wonderful food, wonderful family and...
