I ate here today for the first time, my husband surprised me with a spontaneous date and we like to try new places. He heard about Thai 2 go on the radio. First impressions when you walk in, the space is small, the menu was clear and easy to read and access, they do have fewer menu items them majority of places but that’s fine as long as there good. Which they were, I had the green curry. It was delicious, it was a sweeter coconut curry still having a bit of a kick to it. There were quite a few green beans which seemed frozen and bamboo shoot with a small amount of chicken, wish there were more veggies but overall I thought it was good. We both were able to eat and be full from green curry, the rice it comes with and an order of spring rolls which altogether cost 20$ which is really nice. I was in and out of the restaurant in the time it took to cook up the spring rolls and that was pretty quickly maybe a few minutes. That being said, I came in around 3 pm and the shop was slow, not many customers at this time and there was quite a bit of trash on the floor in the kitchen aria that you can clearly see from the lobby. I absolutely love that I can see the kitchen that my food is coming from but the floor being dirty was off putting. As well as the rice we got was not as fresh as I would have hoped, it had some hard spots in it and just not fluffy or particularly delicious. It seems like there may be some issues with consistency here from other reviews I’ve seen and my personal experience. My only other critique would be the atmosphere is quite confusing, there is an open industrial ceiling, which is fine but the paint choices really clash with the style of the building, I wish there were natural elements to the design. Maybe corrugated metal and raw wood, or plants. I also think there could be more to look at in the long considering it seems most costumers would rather so take out it would be nice to have something to look at while you wait. Overall I enjoyed my experience here but see auras of great growth for this business. If they’re able to sort out their small problem spots they will have a fantastic business that will last a long time and be very lucrative. Best wishes to anyone who try’s this place. Thank you for your time reading my review. Have a...
Read moreWhat??! What the heck did I just experience? This may not be a restaurant. If it is it is like no restaurant I've ever seen ever. I've been to Thai restaurants like 120 times through out my life. It is Thai food if you gave someone the task of making Thai food that has never had Thai food. Bend doesn't have a regular Thai restaurant, so there are issues happening that I don't fully understand. It's the only Thai restaurant that doesn't have a Pad Thai on the menu.
This place is less formal than a food truck. It is less a restaurant than a food truck is. It has no menu (just pictures up high on a wall), no seating, no other customers, no water, no dishes, no decorations, nowhere to sit while waiting for your order, no noodles, and paper plates. It is the minimalist menu, room and space. It is the laziest 'restaurant' I've ever seen - so on some level it is interesting. For instance, they have used not-level outdoor tables in the foyer. They only had like six dishes. No noodles.
The food was diced (the tofu), flavorless and thin. It was bad. It is hard to mess up Thai food, but they did. It all felt water downed. Instead of coconut cream/milk I think they were using water? No recognizable vegetables. A person came in while I was ordering and high tailed it out of there. Also all...
Read moreGreat location for SW Bendites. Easy parking. Clean. Friendly. Fast. We have kids - so on those especially exhaustive days when we are too tired to cook, we get to enjoy Thai; often in conjunction with calling in an order for the kids at local neighboring Cibellis or (dare-I-say) Subway. Absolutely LOVE the Panang Curry! Red curry is also pretty good. Still need to try the Green Curry and Swimming Rama. The Gyoza is a great appetizer. My wife usually gets the Yellow Curry - its super mellow. Add some Thai Chile flakes to spice these dishes up, as I'd say they run around 2-'stars' as a baseline. We love Wild Rose, Sen, and Noi. Don't compare this to that - as they are completely different food and dining experiences all together. Thai 2 Go hits the spot after a...
