Always fresh and great tasting!! The wife and I love this place.
I grew up in central Arkansas eating catfish at primarily two different places, The Catfish Hole (my favorite) and Grampa's Catfish. Occasionally my folks would splurge and we'd dine at The Hushpuppy Place (hasn't been open in about 25 years). If you're my age or older, then you definitely remember these names. But, enough of the nostalgia...so, let's get to it.
I started eating Eat My Catfish when they were rolling around with their food truck/trailer. It was great then and it has only gotten better. I think they have some of the freshest catfish fillets around. And...they always give a little extra on their already good-sized portions.
That little extra goes a long way...just as the amazing customer service you receive from literally everyone. They offer a military discount and it's generous as it is very and truly appreciated. Must show ID (or at least I feel you should and not just try to get away with it).
The wife and I were hankering for some of the in-season bounty of the bottoms - crawfish. Now I grew up calling them crawdads and the wife grew up not having them at all. She can dig in and go with the spicy all day long.
Their crawfish is extremely fresh and excellently prepared!! Very tasty and well worth it. We got three pounds each and didn't take any prisoners. When we went through the ordering line, we ended up with the number 13, which was "odd" seeing as it was this past Friday evening. BUT it was Good Friday so nothing could go or be wrong. ;)
After we had gotten our drinks and were waiting on our orders, the wife decided we had to enjoy some hushpuppies, too. I held down the fort and she got in line. She came back with another order number...31. We just looked at each other and smiled.
Both of our orders arrived and after taking my watch, ring and other accoutrements off and had safely stowed them, the onslaught began. Again, we left all on the battlefield and took no prisoners.
As always, Eat My Catfish is amazing and absolutely delicious. You must scamper down and get some crawfish ASAP because once they're gone, they're gone. At least the fresh ones are.
If we could rate this properly, we'd give Eat My Catfish a 7.5 out of 5 stars. We love it, y'all, and you will, too. If you haven't already visited, then stop reading this and...
Read moreWe had out-of-state guests who have not had catfish before. Brought them to this location to introduce catfish and fried pies. The food was excellent, as always. However, we (party of 8) arrived at 6:30 pm last night. The large dining area was blocked with a service cart, although several people were eating in there. My husband indicated that we needed a table for 8, and this request was completely ignored. There was not an appropriate table for our group in the front dining area. We moved the cart and started to pull the tables together ourselves. An employee did come over and assist with this. The drink machine in the back was not working, so each time we had to move the service cart to refill our drinks or to get the sauces, ketchup, etc. The employee would return the cart to block this area (which as I mentioned had several tables of people eating in there). At the end of our meal, we ordered fried pies. When asked, "For here or to go?", my husband clearly stated we would be eating them there. When they were ready, they were brought to the table in a "to-go" container and the server announced that all of the pies were in the to-go container. A few of us went to refill our drinks, and the drink machine had already been taken down and the tea poured out. I asked if they had any tea in the back and was told, "Nope, we have already poured it out." The restaurant hours are posted from 11-9:00. We left the building before 8:00. What should have been a fun evening with our guests experiencing great food and Southern hospitality, turned into a situation where we felt as though we were unwanted and a complete inconvenience to the staff. I will add that we had multiple meals and appetizers, and spent a small fortune. We will NOT be back to...
Read moreThis is an incident that happened on July 28th, 2025 around 7pm .. I do Ubereats driving as a little side hustle and I had an order for a Shari .. when I arrived the young lady was very polite and welcoming ' I let her know I was here for an Uber eats order for Shari. She says "Yeah, I'm bagging her order now i just need to grab the drink for the kids meal" .. she's grabbing the sauces and all the food was already on bags I was just waiting for the drink and for her to close up the bags. So as I am waiting an older white lady walks in and is standing behind me. The EMC employee stops helping me ' doesn't say anything to me like "Is it okay if I take her order really quick then finish this order up for you?" .. nothing. She walks away and goes and takes the lady order that came in after me when all I was waiting for was a drink. I don't like to bring race into this but I felt discriminated against I am a young African American Woman and I felt disregarded for older white lady even though I was there before her and she was already helping me, almost done. So another worker from the kitchen a young African American woman came up and asked her what was i waiting on she told her "Oh ' just a drink" .. with confusion on her face the other worker grabbed the drink, tied the bags, and handed me the order in less than a minute . And she was still not done helping the lady that came in after me . And I was still pleasant and polite when I left. But I felt highly mistreated, disregarded, and discriminated against. Have a...
