I mean I don’t feel like this place needs any more positive reviews because anyone who loves food and has eaten there already knows that this place is top notch!! I have been eating at this location for over 20 years. We are regulars there. In all those visits, I have never had anything but exceptional service and exceptional food. I have also never eaten at any other restaurant that specializes in this type of food, that has come close to the service or the food. Their food is truly unique in the best ways. I never eat refried beans but I sometimes order a double portion here. I need to know how they make their beans. I mean they are that good! They must put some magical ingredient in there because they are addictive. The rice is another superb version. I never eat the rice anywhere else but I do here with the Lima beans and corn and other extras they add in. The shredded beef anything is just mouth watering. The shredded beef has this almost sweet flavor that is hard to put my finger on. It is just amazing. Again, I am not a big beef eater but I eat it here. There literally isn’t one single thing they offer that I haven’t ooo’d and ahhh’d over.
The service is just hard to find words for. I mean I believe even the Disney corporation might be able to learn a thing or 2 from this business. I know anything Disney is top notch and many other companies send their employees for training at Disney but honestly, I believe the service at La Hacienda has Disney beat. You literally will not ever have to wait for anything. You won’t have to ask for a refill or a napkin or anything else. This week my daughter and I went and while trying to get pics of our food I ended up knocking the salsa bowl into my daughter’s lap. Within seconds, an employee arrived with a stack of napkins. A few minutes later another employee came by offering more napkins and then a third employee again checking up and offering more napkins. I mean I just cannot say enough good things about this place. I hope this place is around for another century…I hope I’m around for another century to enjoy it 😆 and don’t ask me what’s up with these pics. I think my camera was slow that day and took the shot 2 seconds after I pushed the button so it got the shot as I was moving the camera away from the food. Next time I won’t be in...
Read moreI visited during lunch hours and I have to say I was very disappointed. usually the food is really good with good flavor but the last several times I have been in the past year has been very disappointing.I ordered a fajita taco salad when I received the fajita taco salad I had none of the elements that would consist of a fajita taco salad it only had a lettuce tomatoes cheese and chicken now tell me what about that is a fajita taco salad. Also the chicken was over season with a bunch of herbs and was not tasteful it seems that they try to cover up their bland food with a different seasonings but it just does not work the second time that I ordered I gave back my taco salad and I ordered a chili relleno plate the rice was not good it was dry the refried beans had oil in them so much it created a ring of nasty oil and the chili Relleno was very soggy it was not cooked well and it was really small for the price. The server seemed when I annoyed ands my food back the first time he seemed to want to refuse but he seen how disappointed I was so he went ahead and agree to take the plate back brought me something else which I was not satisfied with. I never plan on coming back here even my family say the same things the oodf has not gotten any better has gotten a lot worse and we rather go to the Mexican restaurant chepe's which is across the only other side of highway I've also noticed that a lot of these comments are a little bit similar and makes me wonder have they been getting people to make these reviews for them so beware and just know what flavor is and this my friends is not good authentic...
Read morePerhaps because I grew up in Texas eating authentic Tex-Mex or in Tucson for the past four decades eating Sonoran and New Mexico style Mexican food that my palate is used to smooth, tasty authentic Mexican food. This place is anything but authentic. The queso fundido appetizer was a glob of white cheese floating in grease. The flour tortillas that accompanied it had no flavor at all!
My wife had chicken enchiladas. I had cheese enchiladas with green (tomatillo) sauce. The cheese tasted bad and it was shrouded in three of those flavorless tortillas. The tomatillo sauce was bitter and over-salted. The lousy enchiladas were book-ended on one side by the worst taking refried beans I have ever had and on the other side by “Mexican-style” rice whose one redeeming quality was that they had no flavor.
I pity the locals who think of this as “genuine” Mexican food. Imagine their surprise when they have true, good-tasting Mexican food!
The service was good, but the white uniforms worn by servers gave the place an atmosphere not unlike some semi-military serving facility. I would go to Taco Bell before I would return to La Hacienda, home of what is truly the worst Mexican food I have ever had.
