The (better) Raising Canes we have at home! Scene: it was a brisk Tuesday morning. I drove down highway 5 to see the the empty plot of land, barren, devoid of life…save for the Dairy Queen. I fantasized how perhaps one day, they may build a Raising Canes…then came a Taco Bell….no raising canes, then came HTeaO…almost all hope was lost. Then I saw it, a building. With a drive through. The same color scheme as Raising Canes….Laynes! I thought what is Laynes? Never heard of it…sounds like….Canes….surely it’s some cheap knock off. So I took to the internet and performed some research and it would lead to me believe, that raising canes is actually the copy cat of the original, Laynes! Once Laynes opened I took to the drive through and have been back several times since. Laynes Sauce is Canes sauce, and vice versa. Though since Laynes came first…anyways. They have Laynes sauce but also a variety of other sauces in case you want something different. They have slightly larger menu that is still heavily focused around chicken fingers. They have spicy chicken fingers unlike canes, and you get your order mixed if you don’t want just mild, or spicy. The chicken is just as juicy as canes. Their fry’s actually have seasoning and compliment the chicken well! (Unlike canes). They don’t serve their chicken with slaw, but they do include a slice of delicious Texas toast. Overall, I was waiting for the day that Canes would come to Benton. Little did I know that we would get something even better. 10/10 Laynes!

Pitiful. Bland. Unoriginal. Overpriced. Not worth it even if it were half the price. I would encourage keeping Layne’s at the bottom of your list of all the chicken places… better yet, just remove it from your list of considerations and take my word for it. We don’t eat fast food often in my household so when we do, we hope it’s a treat. This place was anything but a treat and definitely a “one and done” visit for us. Over $10 for 3 of the most dinky chicken fingers I’ve ever seen and they were as soggy as used, submerged piece of toilet paper. Same goes for the fries and toast. Limper than a bizkit when the night is over. Anyone saying this is better than any one singular place that serves this exact same dish, of which there is a plethora of choices, must have Covid and lost all sense of taste or smell. I noticed on the Layne’s cup it said something about “30 years” and all I could wonder is how in the actual heck this place just expanded one more restaurant let alone has lasted 30 years. Please close this restaurant and make it a Chipotle. 🙏🏼

Well… First time dining here. The chicken fingers were pretty good, but nothing spectacular. Not a big fan of crinkle fries, but that’s what comes with the meal. Not sure why Texas toast is part of it, must be a Texas thing. I don’t care too much for the suggestive slogans on the cups either. The dining area is wooden tables with hard steel chairs on an unfinished concrete floor. It’s kind of loud and echoey with several people dining. Overall it’s not bad, but I’m glad there are other options in town for chicken strips.

Food was fine, but the customer service was subpar. I had to go around the line twice because they didn't put ketchup in my bag, and when I got to the window they ignored the fact I was there - many employees were just standing around, eating, drinking, talking, and on phones. At least 3 employees made eye contact with me multiple times and still walked past the window?? When someone finally came to the window she was rude and asked if I had an order.....as if I would pull up to laynes specifically for ketchup lol. I could get chicken strips from anywhere and not have to deal with the lack of customer service and...
