Below is the response from the owner on my critic of service.
First, as the owner of a food management company, I would advise that the owners response might be along the lines of "sorry for the poor service, we are having staffing issues, but will strive to do better" instead of inviting me to apply for a job. Second, I wouldn't have written the negative review if it was just the fact that you were not serving food, but the fact that we sat there for ten minutes while your staff talked amongst themselves, ignored us and never bothered to tell us until after we ordered a beer and tried to place an order that the kitchen was closed. They were inattentive and acted like they were put off by us being there. This is not a shortage of staff issue, it's a training issue. So, if you don't like a negative review, do a better job of training your staff.
Hey Joe, we’re really sorry you had less than ideal experience at Five Shores. I’m assuming you came to the brewery on Monday when we made the decision to temporarily halt food orders. If not, then I’m not sure when you were there since that’s the only time that has happened. Lucky Dog is closed on Mondays. We are the ONLY food establishment open on Mondays in Beulah. We are VERY short staffed. Every hospitality business is struggling with staffing, ticket times, and supply chain issues. We are doing our best with the situation and conditions we are facing. Our staff is incredibly dedicated and working their butts off to get beers and food out as fast as possible. All reviews like yours does is hurt those people who’ve chosen to stick with working under these circumstances. It is disappointing that you can’t understand or haven’t taken the time to understand that businesses like Five Shores that opened seven weeks before the pandemic began, have scrapped by and changed the way we’ve had to operate multiple times just to keep the doors open and people employed. Compassion and empathy go a long way so if you’d like to put in an application to try and help us improve our service we’d be happy to sit down and see if you fit with the Five Shores Team.
Stopped in for a sandwich and couple beers with some friends and will never go back. Service was terrible. Beer was mediocre and when we tried to order food we were told they were to busy and the kitchen was closed (this was at 6:30) I know staffing is an issue right now, but you gotta find a way to be better. Don’t waste your time or money. Go next door to Lucky Dog. Better food, mixed drinks and much...
Read moreI'd been wanting to check out Five Shores for awhile, and since we were going to be passing through the area, I suggested to my wife that we stop and check it out.
It was a Monday in late November, and they had only been open for maybe 15-20 minutes, but there was already a small handful of people, so that was a good sign (I imagine they get very busy in the Summer).
We ordered the Chili Cheese Pretzel Nugs to share (delicious), and a beer flight to sample. We enjoyed everything we tried, but because I still had some driving to do, we decided on some beers to go (my wife really enjoyed the brown ale, and I made sure to grab a couple of Harvest Machine hazy IPAs).
I don't remember the names of the guys behind the counter, but they were warm and friendly, and answered any questions I had and made suggestions as well.
We will definitely be back!
NOTE: It was nice to see that they have games in house, so don't be afraid to...
Read moreFor being a “dog friendly” place, they made me feel bad for having a dog. I was visiting and the patio looked nice and so did the beer. I was traveling with my dog, and went in to ask if their patio was dog friendly. The bartender said yes. Then immediately a server said “your dog can’t be in here.” So I said, “how do I order? Can you take my order outside?” He goes to find out. A woman comes back and says “your dog cannot be inside.” So the patio is dog friendly, they have a big container of dog treats, the dog can’t be inside, I get it, but they have no solutions to order if you have a dog? Good service would be, “I’m sorry, you dog cannot be inside, if you go outside, I can bring you a menu and take your order.” Pretty simple. Even had a older woman outside offered to watch my dog while I do the order, which was vey sweet, but after this experience, I didn’t want to support this place. It is NOT dog friendly. 2/3 of...
