East Shore Market — Restaurant in Benzonia Township

East Shore Market is so thoughtfully curated and such a delightful shopping experience. I could grab snacks I’d usually have to grab at Whole Foods and bring with me up north, the local goodies I crave (Great Lakes Potato chips, etc), and yap it up with the owners all while my kids colored at their kids table. BTW- the owners are wonderful and so engaging—I’d want to shop there because they carry products I love, but it’s a nice added bonus to enjoy supporting the family behind the business. They make a delicious sandwich (especially the famous “Judy”), but my favorite thing to grab from their deli is their kale salad—it’s the perfect delicious antidote to the typical vacation fare when you haven’t seen a vegetable in a week. Great wine and pre-bottled cocktail options. Grab one of their charcuterie boxes if you snag a bottle of something. I look forward to...

I’ve always loved East Shore and their satellite location in Frankfort. Recently I stopped in for a couple of soups to take home for dinner. I am an absolute soup snob, I make great soup and restaurant soup rarely lives up for me. Both of the soups we got were utterly delicious. Wow! Black bean that was sweet (is it cocoa??) and savory and perfectly spicy. Lots of tasty sweet corn and other veggies. The cream of broccoli was also top notch. I was skeptical but it was so flavorful and creamy with big broccoli florets and lovely tender carrots. I also got a torta ai frutti de bosco and a tiramisu and was quite happy with both....

Yesterday was my first visit and I'm very impressed! I got the vegetarian sandwich and it was very tasty combination. There were accommodating to remove certain ingredients from the sandwich which I appreciate. My parents also rave about the Judy, the Greek salad, and the gelato bombs. There is also lots to look at while waiting for your food to be made, including many Michigan-made products along with some unique items. I'm sure I'll be back!
