Second time here second review. They have REALLY yummy gluten free hamburger buns! But be careful! Some of the hamburgers come with crispy fried onions on top đ¤ somehow I miss that and my burger I'll be incredibly delicious and fried onions when it came. Apparently the server was not aware of this when I ordered a gluten-free bun and did not warn me this burger came deep fried battered onions. My bad for not reading the description well enough but I am blind so it happens. I brushed them off as best I could but today I feel like I have gluten flu. The burger was one of the best burgers I've ever had the meat was tasty and tender and not compressed into a hockey puck like most burgers you get. My partner equally enjoyed his Burger and the onion rings which he said were really good. I got the house made chips and they were delicious! We're from Buffalo so we know wings! This place has some delicious wings! The house sauce with the bacon in it is amazing. It does not lend itself to the blue cheese which was not complimentary to those wings however, the blue cheese was delicious and did not taste like commercially made blue cheese salad dressing so I'm thinking this was housemade. They have a very good selection of draft beer according to my partner and he was very pleased. They serve a locally made soda, Northwoods which is really good. Try this place they really know how to do food. There was a very long wait, 40 to 45 minutes, but the food was really worth it. The only suggestion I have is when you give them your phone number to text you when your table is ready try to get the Wi-Fi password there is horrible reception to get internet on your phone. Neither of us couldn't do it but that's okay we are forced to just sit there and talk with each other. Something...
Read moreAfter having some underwhelming dining experiences lately after coming back home to this area, I'd like to leave a good review for a place that deserves it.
The Lucky Dog in Beulah is an awesome place to eat! I had an amazing Reuben sandwich and what looked like handmade onion rings. The best part of the sandwich was the corned beef which was possibly the best I've ever had at a restaurant.
I sat at the bar, as I was by myself and didn't want to take up a table. The bartender said he was from out of state I believe, but he had been working there for years. He was quick and friendly. He kept my water glass full, made sure I liked my food, and gave me a good portion of great tasting BBQ sauce I asked for alongside my onion rings which were amazing!
I am so glad that my family recommended this place to me! I will definitely be back here again soon! Oh, and check at the bar for the WiFi password which is great considering Beulah has abysmal cell service!
If I had to leave one criticism, it would be that the very beautiful outside seating was going to waste on a gorgeous day outside. Also, it seemed like everyone was seated up front when I found out later there was plenty of seating towards the back as well. I've worked at restaurants before. Perhaps staffing was limited, but there was definitely plenty of space there despite everyone seemingly seated fairly...
Read moreI gave four star mainly because of the wings, they are the stand out here and I love good wings. The wings are smoked to perfection and then dropped in the dryer to crispen up. I chose the dry rub and they were great, some of the best around. I also love great chili dogs so I tried theirs. The dog bun and chili where all good but the chili amount was sparse which you can fix by ordering double chili as all the fixins are Al la cart.that would make it a $5.25 chili dog with onions. I am spoiled by all of the great Detroit are conys where the dogs are drenched in chili sauce at $2.75 a piece. The wings were $12.00 more the I pay at other great wing joints, but I'm not going to knock them down for higher prices as some folks don't mind paying the long buck for eats especially during tourist season. My wife loved her bowl of chili. The only disappointment was the grilled cheese sandwich. The cheeses were absolutely tasteless and not grilled enough to melt all the way though. So go for the wings maybe splurge on a dog, grab some chili and enjoy... Oh yes the have a good local beer...
