Stopped in to The Hungry Tummy after a great day running the west coast line of our great state. To start it out had to wait close to a hour for our food. There was only about 10 people and 5 of them was our party. With a party of 5, 3 of the orders was wrong. It was blamed on another waitress taking our order to another table. Than found out it cost $2.00 for a refill on a ice tea... Really? Cost $4 bucks for 100 count of Lipton tea bags that makes close to 100 glasses of tea. But refills on soda is free? Free... Yes, refills on soda was told to us was free. My sisters beef stroganoff came out as chicken alfredo, son's tatter tots came out as fries, my Hungry Tummy burger came out with being just a cheese burger...It's the House burger, named after the place... One would think it would come out with out a hitch just saying. Told waitress about the orders, an she filled us in on about the whole orders was given to the wrong table. The stroganoff was made with very little beef and the noodles was stone cold for my sister, son sucked it up and ate the fries, and for my order was told it would be compensated for being the wrong one. Ohh did I forget my mom ordered a side of garlic toast for her chiefs salad... Came out just to be toast with heavy butter. When the bill came it was over $60 bucks... Wooooo here... What? My burger was to be comp'ed for. Nope they charged me for a cheese burger and was stuck with it, forcing it on the bill. Asked for the owner/manager/cook and was refused an audience with him by him... Come on really, your to good to talk to your paying customers? Guess so. Needless to say the bill still came out around $55 bucks. I should of gotten an idea on how this place was after I seen the dirty dish cart full of dirty dishes between the two bathroom doors as I was going in to wash my hands. WILL BE THE LAST TIME WE WILL EAT THERE. So please be warned, save your money, and eat elsewhere. If they don't care about the services, food or patrons. Maybe they should close their doors and GET OUT of the restaurant business..... Wait... This is crazy, I'm forced to at less give one star? Should be...
Read moreI gave it one star because the pizza was decent. We asked if we could order a large pizza with different toppings on each half (like basically every pizzaria does). We expected to pay the price of the higher priced half for the whole pizza which is customary and fine. But then our waitress returned and said that the manager said to tell us that we would save $4.00 each if we both simply bought 2 small pizzas with what we each wanted. We said thank you for letting us know that and that's what we'll do. However, when we got the bill, it was $8.00 MORE. We kindly brought up the discrepancy in what we were told. The owner then told us that even if we had purchased one large pizza with different ingredients on each side, we would have been charged for two separate large pizzas! Who does that!?! We tried to explain that there would have only been half of the ingredients used on each side. The owner would hear none of it. We tried again to politely explain why that didn't make any sense and that NO pizza restaurants EVER use that policy (or at least should notify the customer in advance). By that time a long line of onlookers and customers had gathered and the owner became so flustered that she threw our money back at us and said, "here take it, it's not worth it! " we responded that we wanted to pay for our food, but not for the additional amount that we were misled to order. She became very upset, so we said, "Fine. We will take our money back then - and trust me, we WON'T be back! In hind sight, maybe one star was being...
Read moreAlas, let me tell you a tale of a famished individual who was in dire need of nourishment. I was fatigued after a long day on the lake, when I inquired on where to dine. To my horror, there were few if any dining establishments open for me to enjoy at that hour (8pm)! Nearing full hunger, I fell into despair, not knowing where I could fill my belly. But to my pleasant surprise, Hungry Tummy was ready and open to serve a young fellow as I! My comrades and I ventured to the restaurant, unsure of what we would land upon. A quaint, corner side restaurant with a sign that brought me hope of a full stomach. As we were seated, I couldn’t help but notice the friendly townfolk residing at the bar, talking among themselves about their excursions of the day. An arrangement of televisions provided all the entertainment that I needed, NASCAR! As I ordered my food, I was unsure of whether the quality would match the joy of the surrounding environment. But indeed it did! The cheese curds were scrumptious, loaded with cheese and breaded with a jalapeño crunch! The large pepperoni pizza was as delectable as they come, putting the final dagger in my appetite. As we waited for the bill, I counted it as a gift that I had stumbled upon a place like this. In sum, my experience at the Hungry Tummy is one for the ages, and shall be experienced by all in need of nourishment not only of the body, but...
