I was here with a friend on 6/24/13, a Monday evening for dinner. Parking is plentiful, and I headed upstairs. There is outdoor seating on the ceiling with a bar on as well. We sat at the bar.
We were greeted by the bartender without a smile and a lackluster tone. I ordered a water, a coffee and a beer. The bartender made a face and said all three? I said yes. She advised that she would have to call down to have them make it as they don't have coffee on the roof. I said ok. The coffee was served to me in a plastic cup, which had signs of warping from either the heat of the coffee or from damage to the cup. I choose not to drink as such.
It took about 15 minutes after the coffee was served before the bartender exited her conversation from the other side of the bar and asked us if we would be eating. We told her we just like the check. As I was cashing out, I told her that I didn't think hot liquids should come in plastic cups. She told me "OK." I said I believed heat could warp the plastic, I showed her the warping, and said toxins could be released. She said "No glass on outside, the water and beer came in plastic cups, what did you think your coffee would come in?" I told her I wished she would have told me that when I ordered the coffee. She said "Ok, whatever."
Went to O'Mara's for dinner instead, about 1/2 a mile west of 24 Seconds Bar and Grill. Food was delicious, the coffee came in a ceramic mug, and there was...
Read moreWell,
My wife and I were looking for a place to not only work, but have some dinner at which they were very helpful and welcoming in that sense and showed us where we could sit for the wall plugs for our computers. The waitress was pretty good. The only issue my wife and I had was the food, I think there was a miscommunication between my wife and the waitress because my wife was expecting sautéed mushrooms on her sandwich but got raw mushrooms on it which she said made the sandwich unpleasant…obviously understandable.
I ordered the steak burger. The bread was a little cold and the burger was salty as well as a little burnt and hard to eat. We are local and little disappointed because we always see this place driving to the store or home and had one night without our daughter and decided to try it. So we were a little disappointed having spent $68 including tip and the food was not good at all. Sorry to say, or risk someone’s job but I think maybe with a different cook on another night we might come back, but in terms of now we probably...
Read moreRidiculous service and prices. First, when we ask for a menu the waitress points to the QR code and makes it sound like we were stupid for asking for a menu. Second, there is no cell phone service in the place and have to either walk outside so that we can get reception to see the menu or use their public WIFI, which I refuse to do, just so we can order food. Once I order a calzone it was like pulling teeth when asking what some of the options are for sides. There were literally 8 people in the place, so it wasn't like they were busy and couldn't take the time.
The beer prices are ridiculous, $9.50 for a pint!! And then after paying with a credit card I see they added 4% to the bill as a surcharge for using a card! Isn't that the cost of doing business?? Especially at those beer prices, who is going to use cash?
You try to help the small businesses but when being treated like that I am going back to the chains. We will never go back to this place and I encourage anyone...
