I can comfortably state that this is generally some of the best ice cream in Metro Detroit. Top five. The reason is that they offer a dairy-free option that is more than tasty. In fact, I have driven six or 7 miles out of my way just to purchase when I’m in the mood for ice cream.

Their choices change over the years, but generally they have had chocolate and vanilla options made out of both soy and/or rice milk. If you choose, you can then add any ingredients just like any other traditional dairy product. Although this may sound small, this is still difficult to find at a reasonable price.

I love frosty freeze, I've been coming here since I was a kid. But ever so recenty they have really been slacking on making there ice cream. I have gone 4 times in the last week and 3/4 times they have messed up my order. And the only time they didnt was when the manager was working and made my ice cream. Again I love frosty freeze but I don't appreciate the messed up orders especially because i order chocolate ice cream in a cup with chocolate sprinkles everytime. Every one of these little places have their own flavor. Frosty Freeze is always consistent, and great customer service. I have not waited more than 15 minutes from the time I walk up to getting my food, even with the biggest of crowds. Nothing super duper fancy shmancy, but that's not what you need out of an ice cream spot. Prices are on the high side of average, but they support a local independent business.
