I came in on their first weekend for breakfast. Naturally, they were incredibly busy, but that didn't keep any of the staff from providing great service. Everyone was really friendly and with a smile on their face, and they regularly check in to refill our waters and coffee. The food came out quick, and the thing I always appreciate most... our waitress dropped off the check promptly afterward we finished our meals.
It's great that the golden grill has remodeled and created an atmosphere uniquely their own. I was skeptical of replacing the bar with tables, but there's a surprising amount of room now. The bathrooms are amazing now, its so much nicer than what was at nip'n'tuck. The only thing that I'd suggest is that they get privacy screens... if you forget to lock the door and someone walks in on you, the whole lobby is gunna see. A privacy screen in front of the toilet would be an easy fix, I really hope the...

For the food. I got the crabby Benny (crab cake eggs Benedict) with pancakes as my side and my friend got a salad. I also got a smoothie.
While the portions weee a great size and the prices were pretty standard, the food was pretty average. I wouldn’t say bad, but not great and I probably wouldn’t go back. The smoothie I 100% do not recommend. It was supposed to be banana, blueberries and spinach. It tasted like pure orange juice and honestly was pretty gross. For $4 I didn’t touch it.
The waitresses were nice but definitely weren’t going the extra mile for anyone. Flashed a smile and a hello and came and checked up on us once. The busser men and women did way more of the work filling drinks and taking care of dishes.
For a diner, there’s definitely better in Berkley but it’s a decent place with decent food and decent prices.

Read moreSignificantly smaller than I had expected. Seems like half is dine in & the other half is the kitchen separated vertically down the building by a wall. Irish benny: sounded appealing but the execution wasn't as expected. Corned beef was sliced like canadian ham, except thinner. Tough to cut even w/ the steak knife provided and equally rubbery/chewy. Opted out of hash browns, & got a bowl of fruit. Chocolate french toast was filled with a chocolat gnache. I really enjoyed this dish. No whip cream bc i dont like it and strawberries on the side instead of topped. Small but busy, so i'm assuming that was the reason for the delay in taking my order & food being just a touch above room temp. Melody was very nice & welcoming! She even comforted a child acting out so her Mom could get a couple of worryfree &...
