Pink Garlic Indian Cuisine-Oak Park — Restaurant in Oak Park

I went to pick up an order for one of the delivery platforms. The food wasn't ready at the pick up time that the delivery app said it would. I had to wait 18 minutes. Absolutely unacceptable. They are wasting drivers' time by having us wait that long. Time is money for the delivery drivers, and it's costing the drivers money by having them wait this long. I could've picked up and delivered another order for that time I wasted here. I can understand if it's a five to ten minutes delay due to some circumstances, but waiting more than 10 minutes is absolutely unacceptable. This is the 2nd time I had to wait almost 20 minutes. The 1st time they didn't even start making the order until I got there. What were they doing when their tablet or computer alerted them that they have an order from doordash or grubhub? Clearly it wasn't a priority for them. Otherwise they would've paid attention and accepted the order and put in the order for the chef to make. Instead of accepting it and putting in the order right away, they wait until the driver get there and then put in the order and make the driver wait more than ten minutes. Evidently, they aren't staying top of things. I literally witnessed the guy behind the counter putting in the order when I got there. Seems like doordash and grubhub customers aren't the same priority for them as other customers who comes in or order over the phone. Otherwise, they would make sure delivery platforms orders such as doordash and grubhub are made on time and ready for pick up. If it wasn't for the delivery drivers, their business wouldn't be doing well. I am pretty sure delivery orders such as doordash and grubhub play a major role in their revenue. So, they need to respect the drivers time. Otherwise, the drivers will avoid picking up from this restaurant, because no driver would want to lose money by waiting such a ridiculous amount of time. If the restaurant can't handle the doodash and grubhub orders and keep it ready for the drivers in a timely manner, then don't be partnered with doordash and grubhub. Hope the owner see this review and correct the issue...

So my girlfriend and I decided to give this place a try. I’m not going to lie, I was a bit skeptical as I’ve had Indian food in the past and was good with not having it again. As we were walking up to the restaurant, one of the workers ran to the door to open it for us and greeted us with a smile.

As soon as we sat down we were thanked for stopping in, welcomed, asked what we would like to drink, and also made sure that we understood that they cook everything fresh and hot per order so if there were any allergies or anything, they would be happy to accommodate.

Drinks were at the table before I could even look over the menu. The gentleman asked if we had questions on the Menu items and was very pleasant.

We gave the sampler appetizer a chance. And that was up very quick… fresh, hot, and to my surprise…. Delicious! When the main course came out, they gave us clean forks and knives which in a weird way made us feel special. So with the main course, I don’t remember what we had, but WOW! Blew away my expectations. The meal was delicious! And they put our food on a warming tray to keep the food nice and warm was actually quite nice! Overall the food was amazing, the experience that they gave was top notch! They make you feel like you’re a celebrity or someone of higher stature. They went far above and beyond in every expectation I had. As we got up to leave the same gentleman walked straight to the door and opened it for us. I had my first experience with Pink Garlic Indian Cuisine on August 2, 2022 and all I can say is that I WILL DEFINITELY be back. The gentlemen at the desk was very hospitable and engaged me in conversation which made waiting for my food that much more of an enjoyable experience. He shared with me how the restaurant came to be from their days in the UK up till the present and even future plans for the chain. I'm excited to see where these guys go in the future. The food was delicious. I got the #13 starter platter which was EXCELLENT! The chutney used for the samosa was different from what I was expecting (which was actually better than what I've had before from other restaurants) so I gave that a 5 out of 5. The Butter Chicken was also very tasty as well. I give that a 4 out of 5 only because I could've used a little more flavor in my sauce. But to be fair the last time I had butter chicken it was from an Indian woman (from Southern India) at my church who made it a couple of days prior to me receiving it. So at that point the spices had plenty of time to settle in. BUT all in all my experience was AWESOME, the staff was kind, and I can't wait to try other selections on their menu. I believe in supporting the local scene and REALLY want to see these guys thrive and prosper. The Bollywood film playing in the back added a nice touch as well.
