24 East is a gem and has been a go to place for me for years for a quick sushi fix. Evie and Rudy are really what make this a special and intimate place. After not having been to 24 East in almost a year due to some life changes, Evie remembered me today as soon as I walked in, and offered a warm smile and hug. It's rare to find these types of places anymore. Go for the laid back no frills atmosphere, being able to BYOB, and to always have service with a smile- or grab some take out!

Lovely atmosphere, kind and attentive service, the waitress was lovely. However I did not enjoy the food as much as I hoped - I ordered the chicken katsu curry lunch special, which came with miso and salad. Miso was extremely salty, and the salad was soggy and overdressed. The curry itself was delicious and the rice cooked nicely, but it seemed like tempura batter was used for the katsu breading instead of typical panko.

I ordered Katsu Kare Lunch Special for to go. Honestly it was much better than my expectations. Foods - from packing to taste - was great, especially Kare taste was good as much as my experience at the kare restaurants in Korean and Japan (Not to say high-end kare restaurants like $30+ for dish, but above average). Staff was nice, price was okay. so definitely willing to order again.

We saw this gem last time we were in Southside Bethlehem and we promised ourselves we would try it for lunch, so today we did and boy am I glad we did! The miso soup was the best I have ever had and I have had many. The waitress was smiling , friendly, and attentive and promptly brought me a fork and spoon when she saw my struggles with chopsticks ( gotta practice more!). We chose the lunch bow and green tea. The Tea was served piping hot in traditional Japanese tea cups. It was flavorful and soul satisfying. Our lunch boxes were served hot and in a timely manner. We had a 4 California rolls, 3 shumi and a delicious salad with an original ginger and citrus based dressing, delicious. I had the beef and vegetable offering which comes with the box. The 4 beef " roll ups" we're tender, juicy and delicious, he vegetables crisp and tasty rendered in a delicious sauce. The waitress dropped by several times to see if we needed anything and she was smiling and friendly throughout. My dining companion had the same lunch as I only with shrimp and she remarked several times on how tender and we'll prepared the shrimp were. If I may suggest I think the owners would be helped by giving the window more curb appeal so everyone knows it is a Sushi restaurant, I wouldn't want anyone missing a great meal at this...

My boyfriend and I were stuck on what restaurant we should eat at for dinner and also on a time a crunch. But I'm so glad we agreed on 24 East Bistro!!!! The time & day we went we had the restaurant all to ourselves which we thought was cute. Our waitress was wonderful!!! Very Kind, friendly, and took great care of us. Our food was also great. What I also loved too was how our waitress packed our leftovers. I had sushi and an appetizer that had sauces, the sauces were packed separately in a small container but she taped the sauces to the container the sushi was packed in. Usually when you have sauces you're worried about them falling over and spilling in the bag. And out of all the restaurants I've been to that serve sushi none of them ever taped the sauces. I was just so amazed by that, it was thoughtful. We really enjoyed our dining experience, we felt we were well taken care of. We can't wait...

Went for Valentine’s Day and while service was okay, they seemed to be very backed up in the kitchen and for some reason had a giant party due for a reservation taking up half the dining room which was a bit ridiculous considering the date. That reservation didn’t come in though for a very long time since we had sat down, so you would think they wanted to get their customers taken care of before that giant party arrived. We waited for our sushi rolls well over an hour which is not normal of any restaurant to wait that long (again not even a packed dining room since only half was available), and then our rolls did not all come out at once. We also weren’t quite satisfied with the selection of sushi, practically everything had avocado in it and not a wider variety of fish, doesn’t use real crab. Just...
