I feel like it's fairly rare to find food in this area that's a little expensive but where you are also getting your money's worth in terms of a unique experience. What I like about lit is that it feels like the menu changes slightly all the time, and even items I've had before come with a little welcome variation. For instance, today I got Bub's Grilled Cheese which comes with a side of mustard and pickled veggies—last time gherkins, onions, and something else. Today it came with pickled cauliflower, which I've never tried before and I quite enjoyed. The sourdough looks and tastes wholesome and delicious and they make it in house, and I've been satisfied with the coffee I've bought from them, both beans and brewed. The beans I got had been roasted within the past couple days (as opposed to weeks), and they have a good choice between washed/natural/etc processes—I like that these details are even included on the labels because I know I like natural processed coffee better than washed, but it can be hard to pick something if those details aren't written on the label. So thanks for that. I also like that they have aeropress and a couple other interesting preparations on the menu; it seems like they treat both their food and their coffee like art.
Speaking of art, they always have a selection of pieces from local artists to peruse (the past few weeks there are some ceramics, earrings, and small prints). It's nice to feel like a place is connected to the surrounding community and they do a great job of that here.
My only couple gripes are so small: they do ask for your name when you order, and sometimes things do take a minute to come out—this is fine, but if I go to sit down, I'm not always sure if something is for me because they don't usually call out the name for the order. Super minor detail, but I've let my coffee/food sit before because I didn't realize it was ready for me haha.If that happens though the staff are very present and aware, and when this happened they remade my drink without my asking or having to say anything about it, and I greatly appreciated that.
This is now my favorite place to have coffee and work "from home" when home isn't cutting it. They're a real gem...

There's comfy seating in the front (by the window with all the plants) but there's also seating with tables if you have to get some work done.
They have the standard coffee items, but they also serve a variety of newer items (soda served with a shot of espresso). Staff were kind and helpful with questions.
But let's talk about the pastries. I have never seen flavor combinations like what they serve here. (They don't make them on site, they've partnered with some other companies). Strawberry, sage, and coconut? Guava and rosemary? Balsamic carrots and pickled red onions in a pastry?!
Sadly we only sampled two of their items, but they were incredible. I had a cheese steak pastelito with an abundance of sesame seeds, which I thought would be too many seeds, but it wasn't. The seeds added to the flavor, not overpowering it. Hubs had the mango and rosemary pastry. The two flavors balanced each other and were very enjoyable.
I definitely want to come back to try some of their other coffees, pastries, and to enjoy the...
Read moreService and atmosphere were good but the coffee was beyond disappointing. My sister was in town, and we both wanted to grab some quick coffee. We both ordered large cappuccino hot for the go. When we received the order, it was filled in a bit more than half. We were like okay, it's all good. I tried the coffee and it was bitter. I was like maybe it's lacking sugar. Added 2 sugar sache but couldn't cut the bitterness out. I was like maybe I don't know much about coffee when I turned to my sister who seemed like a cat struggling with hairball. Having said all of that, it was both cappuccino so maybe it was a bad batch. Please check for quality next time and the quantity next time. We both had to throw the coffee out...
