The customer service while dining there was good. The food tasted great while eating there. However upon my husband finishing his lobster ravioli he was feeling slightly off and ask to immediately pay and retreat back to our cabin to use the facilities. His stomach began to hurt within minutes progressively getting worse. We were staying roughly 5 minutes away and he rushed inside immediately upon arrival and began to dispose of the meal he just consumed. He was stuck to the restroom all evening through the next morning. We contacted the restaurant within an hour or so maybe 2 tops as I was caring for my husband and my 2 children. Someone answered the call and I politely let them know what happened and they passed me along to the manager and I explained again what happened and was abruptly cut off and told that food poisoning doesn’t work like that and basically saying it couldn’t be their fault but that they would advise the chef and wished us well. They said a few sorrys and thank yous but didn’t seem genuine and it was very rushed and felt very dismissive. The entire experience while being there was great until this. Even if they would’ve been just slightly more empathetic and seemed a little more genuinely concerned we would’ve been fine as there’s not much to do now but care for my family. The rest of us ordered chicken and pizza which we consumed just fine. We react to bad food immediately although not common for most folks it is for us. So it’s not rare for us to have an immediate reaction to food poisoning. We don’t appreciate being told that it’s not food poisoning because “it takes 24hrs to manifest and that it couldn’t be their food who caused it.” If you do go maybe don’t get the...

We enjoyed an excellent meal here tonight, our first visit since Jakobe's opened about a year ago. The food was generous, and service was excellent, and the small interior dining room is very nicely arranged for a comfortable meal. My wife had the Fajita meal (chicken) which was cooked and seasoned wonderfully - very flavorful, and delivered to the table on an extremely hot and sizzling skillet. The quantities were large and well seasoned with rice and refried beans - she took half of it home for lunch. I ordered the New York Steak with cut rosemary potatoes and vegetables. The potatoes and veggies were incredibly tasty and perfectly cooked. The only slightly negative side to the meal was that the steak was not cooked as requested. I requested medium rare (the only way for a good NY steak, right?) and it came relatively lightly seared on the outside, but medium well on the inside. A little disappointing, although the flavor was still excellent. They kindly reduced our bill, which wasn't necessary but was appreciated. In addition to the small dining room (pictured) there is a front deck area which is a little close to the busy boulevard, and a large rear patio area that is quiet and has a pleasant breeze - although the view / atmosphere could be improved with some nicer landscaping, etc. Overall a very nice dining experience, and we look forward to trying some...

Called to put an order via phone and the lady said she needed a second and put asked to put me on hold (that's fine) However, when she got back on the phone I started giving her the first 2 plates of my order and she quickly told me the total without even asking if that was it. So when I told her I had more plates to order she didn't say anything or acknowledge what I said. I waited patiently and all I heard was typing in the back ground & talking to other people assuming she had to fix the original order I waited for over 5 akward minutes, and I tried multiple times to talk to her but she ignored me. We were originally going to order from DoorDash but the app wasn't allowing us to place the order. This was 1 hour and 20 mins prior to closing time. If you dont want to take an order an hour and half prior to closing then close an hour earlier. Zero...

Probably one of the best dinners I have had on the mountain! Came with my family for a weekend getaway and gave this place a shot and it did not disappoint, we started with potato skins and they were crispy and creamy, dinners are served with a small side salad and fresh baked bread witch was pretty great with the herb butter. My oldest son ordered the chicken piccata and it was great, my youngest ordered the spaghetti in bolognese sauce reminded me of my grandmas rich and delicious, my wife ordered chicken tetrazzini it was tasty it but it wasn’t our favorite our favorite was the marry me chicken absolutely delicious packed with flavor reach and creamy a must have.

My husband and I had dined here on 4/14 and were shocked at the quality of the food. The reviews for this restaurant were really great and it was a huge disappointment. Over $70 for something we could have made better at home for less than half the price. It was very reminiscent of cafeteria food and it all tasted like it was freezer food. The mozzarella sticks didn’t have any cheese in them lol. We didn’t even eat half of the food. The server gave us half off on the pizza but again.. over $70 for really terrible food. There’s other places in big bear that have way better food. The server was really nice and friendly.
