Checkin was easy - the staff friendly, and asking pertinent questions so you walk away with what you need. Putting this in early for those with mobility issues - 3 stories, no elevator. I didn’t see rooms that don’t need stairs to access. Our room was large. Kitchen well stocked with what you need (even a tea kettle!). Fridge cold enough it froze our green onions! Two full bathrooms, two fireplaces (that worked), king bed and (assuming a foldout) couch for sleeping. I’d describe the decor as “minor level mountain core” - wood, stone & a few animal figurines. The shower in one bathroom needed snaking - but we just told them as we checked out and used the other one. We regularly saw the handyman wandering around so no doubt they’d have come to deal with it if we wanted. Everything was clean, organized, and all appliances worked. Thoughtful touches (like the tea kettle cord stored IN the kettle) were everywhere. The furniture was comfy, the carpet fine, lots of extra pillows and a few blankets, fans for use, and even a vaccum. I think there were DVDs to borrow in the rec room/lobby where the pool table resides. The complex is on a fairly busy road, but was far enough back that it was minor background noise (heard only when we had the windows open). Wouldn’t have even known there were others staying there it was that quiet (mid week). The hot tub, while small, was marvelously hot. The pool looked great - we just weren’t interested. Made use of one of two propane bbqs - they have tools to borrow (which we did.) we had covered parking, but it is first-come for that. We were here for just a short respite from living downtown - and cuz of miscellaneous food sensitivities (and budget) we prefer to cook. If the kitchen is an important feature - worry not. The only thing they seemed to be missing was baking supplies - bring a sheet pan or your multi-purpose dish. You’re covered for pretty much everything else.

The resort is beautiful and well maintained. We stayed for 3 nights in December. It was extremely cold outside but our room temperature was just right. Coming from Phoenix I don't tolerate cold weather very well. It was snowing on one of the days and we were able to check out movies from the front desk for free; there was a great variety available. On a sunnier day we went for a walk in the Big Bear Village where we found a lot of shops and restaurants to try. Take comfortable shoes if planning to visit the village since it'll be quite a walk but nothing strenuous.

Please view email and various pictures which demonstrate the opportunity to address an incident that transpired. The Snow Lake Resort has ministered to our travel needs, then came the maintenance man who came into our room. WITHOUT KNOCKING, WITHOUT A FRONT DESK CALL, NO HEADS UP WHATSOEVER, my lady made eye contact and the man immediately closed the door quietly🤫 and left🤔.

NO AC in rooms. We did not know this when booking, but was advised 3 days before arrival that room had no AC but box fans were available. The room we had, 302, was nice until afternoon when the thin windows took the afternoon sun and turned the room into an 83 degree oven. The outside air temps we're low 60s and it took until midnight to get the room cool to 74. Ceiling fans did nothing to help. Had a walkway outside our windows and had to leave them wide open with the one box fan and two fans we bought to cool room all night. Windows wide open to anyone to watch you sleep as if you closed the curtains room heats right back up. We left after 2 nights of a seven night stay.

We kept the reservation because we figured with temps in 75-80 range for high and 60 to low 40s from sunset to overnight room would be fine but we're wrong.

Coming from AZ heat the goal of our trip was cooler temps that Big Bear offered.

WE WERE OFFERED a different room by staff when we went to checkout after second night, but as it would be without AC we declined as more of same discomfort was expected.

The room is clean and well outfitted with dishes, silverware, pans, oven, etc. for a nice stay and if it was winter it would be great. It was close to everything for a nice stay.

In ending, this place would be perfect for a winter stay, but once the snow melts, so will you. If the windows were upgraded (they were very hot to touch in afternoon) maybe a different story but you would still be left with open windows for people to look in all night for your fan to keep you...

Started off great, and ended terribly… My fiance and I are coming in from a few hours away to get away for my birthday. Front desk had called in the afternoon asking our eta which was 6:30. Super nice on the phone providing details just in case we showed up after the office was closed. We got in on Tuesday evening at 6:40pm. Received our key cards and headed to the room to drop off our bags. We then walked across the street to get snacks and drinks for the trip. Upon our return, around 7:15 the fire alarm was going off with no management on site and everyone standing outside waiting for the piercing sound to end because there was no fire. Okay so it was a false alarm, great right?! Came into our room, fairly clean, but probably didn’t vacuum or clean the cabinets? We found half a bag of tortilla chips and some hard Albertsons cookies and threw those away. Next night, Wednesday… it’s 3am, quiet and we once again wake up to the fire alarm going off with no management in site. About 20-30 minutes later, the fire department shows up once again and is able to turn it off. This place is cute and a great idea but they definitely need better safe guards regarding the fire alarms and having no management on site! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and I won’t be coming back either. Update: 5am and fire alarm goes off for another 20 minutes. We left at 5:20am after getting 40 minutes of sleep...
