If there was a Zero star then I would use that. reading reviews from the BBB and Google this company is garbage. The BBB grades Bigbear-cabin a "F" yes an F. I canceled my reservation thirty days before my check-in date. 500 for the rent. yes they states they will keep 20% and I am fine with that. 30 days passed and no refund. I called emailed and nothing. I only got a reply once I threatened to report them to the BBB. by this time they are in breach of contract. I wanted my refund back. they mailed a check well short of my deposit. they charged me 20% of all fee including tax, cleaning and deposit for the stay. Illegal!! Now I am doing this. I wish I could have worked things out but they seem not to care too much about their reputation. I hope the owner knows what's going on and takes the proper steps to correct this. next step For me in reporting them to the BBB and getting my lawyer involved. lessoned learned. Read morewe stayed in Meadow lake Cottage let me start by saying that i rent a house every winter and summer but this time i let my sister take care of the trip and she did the reservations with this company when we arrived i did a walk through to check the house and take pictures of anything that was damaged or missing from the start it was not up to my standards up stair closet had no light (missing) master bedroom TV control had no batteries (missing) the TV in the living room has a big dark dent on it we found kids snacks in the couch's and water bottles under the couch's the refrigerator still had food inside and it also may need to be replace the dishes had to be rewash some sill had food on them inside the drawer where the utensil are kept had old food the chairs that are in the dinning and up stair feel like they are about to break overall they need to clean the house right when we did are clean up before taking off i was able to notice that no one has swept under the couch's in awhile and to top it off are cable and WiFi got cut off because it wasn't payed on time and last when i tried calling the number that is listed of the door so i could find out where to take the trash because they didn't leave any instruction...
Read moreWe rented a cabin planning to celebrate my parents 35th wedding anniversary on 2/14/15. Unfortunately my mother was hospitalized, dying and put on life support, then sent home for 3 days of hospice care before passing. We called Stacie Linka on 2/10 from hospital to cancel our cabin. She told us she would cancel the reservation, not to worry about it and she'd refund everything within the week. We'd see it on our card within 30 days she said. We were so pleased. She seemed so compassionate and understanding.
Three months later she hasn't reversed the charges. I disputed with my credit card company and she disputed my dispute.
I contacted her directly again. She now claims she never agreed to credit anything. She wrote:
"I am not reversing any charge. You cancelled your reservation 3 days before your arrival. I understand it was for unforeseen circumstances, but unfortunately for purposes of the contract that does not require me to issue you a full refund.... At no time did I offer you a full refund.
