Most of the food was good or great. Unfortunately what I ordered was just bad. The service here was horrible. Some of the staff did a good job, others were just inexcusably unprofessional. We arrived with a large party of 15 people on a Wednesday. I understand that this can overwhelm the staff and we were all willing to cut them some serious slack. Unfortunately it quickly became apparent that no amount of slack would be sufficient. We were at our tables for 25 minutes before drink orders were taken. Refills were haphazard and communication was horrible. I had to go hunting through the restaurant to discover there was a salsa bar. The salsa was amazing. When the initial wave of food showed up after 80 minutes it was delicious. I got to sample the food of everyone around me because, inexplicably, my tortilla soup didn't arrive until everyone had finished their meals. Five of us ordered the tortilla soup and when it finally arrived it looked like I was in for a really good meal. I was dumbfounded to find that it was bland and entirely lacking in character. Everyone who ordered the soup agreed and didn't eat it. Someone messed up on the soup. That is the only explanation. I brought this to the attention of the server and made sure to tell him that the rest of the food was great. I suggested that we really shouldn't pay for it. He gave me a slack jaw look and found an excuse to talk to someone else. When I pressed the point he argued with me about that I said it was ok. I still don't know what the heck he was smoking there. When he finally split the checks (more arguing there) he only took off my soup and left the other 4 on. I was so angry my family refused to let me make a big deal about it. They all told me to write a review instead. There was plenty of additional drama and by the time it was over we all had a very bad taste in our mouth. Ironically not from the food. If you go to this restaurant please don't be silent. They are on the verge of being great. They just need to train their staff about basic restaurant practices and nothing will change unless...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDined there last night for My husband's birthday. The Hostess station was empty when we walked in, but there was a sign asking for patience, so noted. However, after about 15 minutes of my husband standing there, like a kid lost in a shopping mall, while crew members zipped by like he was the Invisible Man, my patience was wearing thin. I give them a 3 for that. When the Hostess finally arrived, she was pleasant and seemed friendly. She seated us right away. She gets a 10 from me. Chips and eventually watered down salsa arrived at the table. Salsa and chips...a solid 4. Our Waiter finally arrived. Took our drink orders and returned within a reasonable time. However after he brought the drinks, it was like pulling teeth trying to flag him down. Granted, he seem to be the only one working our section and there were a few large parties seated. He then tried to take the food order of a party seated after us, I politely waved and he promptly came over, as he should. I'll give him a generous 5 1/2. He was okayish. I got a Virgin daiquiri, a solid 4. Our food arrived shortly after and this is where I had the BIGGEST issue that ensured that I would never return to this establishment. We had just starting in on our food when this tall, rotund man comes over to our table, stands inches from us and apparently begins changing the channel on a TV that was on the floor below us in the Restaurant. He stood there for what felt like 10 minutes, fiddling with the remote, while his ample girth was literally in my face. Never once, did he even acknowledge us, or apologized for his imposition. I have never in my life been in such an awkward and unappealing position. I assumed he was the Manager since he was wearing a little blazer over his tshirt. If he is, I can understand why our dining experience was what it was. He is rude, and uncouth and disgusting!! I'll give him a solid -0. . The...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely delicious! Isn't even begin to say how much I enjoyed this place while in big bear with my mom. I drive by this place often and can not believe i never ventured in.
The service for me around 3pm was very quick. We were seated almost immediately at an ada friendly table indoors. Chips and salsa were ready to go as soon as we sat.
We are able to dive into two different flavorful salsa's . One for those who dont like spice and the second charred to perfection with a spicy kick.
I opted for a dulce jalapeƱo margarita (water melon flavor) it was absolutely delicious. Muddled jalapeƱos a heavily tajin rimmed glass touched add that touch of citric spice with each sip and the sweet crisp freshness of watermelon tasted like the Mexican can shots / childhood candies. This was a perfect pairing to my carne asada. Picking the perfect margarita was tricky and I wish they offered flights due to the amazing cocktail line up .
My food was phenomenal. So much flavor in each bite. My carne asada marinated to perfection, tender and juicy. Rice and beans tasted like home cooking. My mom opted for steak fajitas and let me tell you. The delicious aroma coming from the hot sizzling plate tickled at your senses. My mouth watered at the smell of steak sizzled onions and peppers . Just reminiscing as I write has me drooling. The steak and peppers were all tender and full of delicious flavor.
Customer service was very hospitable and my overall experience was incredible. I ate so well I needed a nap. Here's the real kicker though. I never felt full , stuffed or bloated. I felt satisfied and when it comes to dining thats how you want to feel. Come hungry leave happy.
A perfect place for datenight, solo, work friends, family whatever the occasion its now a...
