Been coming here since the day they opened. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt, and hope that we just came on a bad day. Sadly, like everything else, the prices are very high now and the portions have definitely shrunk down quite a bit. My wife got the machaca eggs. She was a bit disappointed at how small the plate was. I ordered the Philly cheese steak, and it was pretty good, although I did notice it was only about 2/3 the meat that they used to put in it. We are definitely getting very sick of this shrink sizing every place we go nowadays. It's already bad enough that you have to pay twice what you did just a few years ago, without the extra added slap in the face of getting half the portion. It was a very slow day, so I wasn't sure why it took forever to take our order. The waitress never came back once to refill the coffee, which I was not happy about. Also noticed on the bill, they dinged me a dollar for a side of mayo. Our breakfast came to over $40. It's just getting to expensive to eat out almost anywhere it...

This was a pick up order, Stood by the register for almost 10 mins with no one acknowledging that I was even there. And the woman looked at me twice and never said a word. Finally a young man came over. I asked him could I add a deep fry Ice cream to my order, if it would take long he said sure and if would only take a few mins. At that point Mrs Personality came over and I asked her and she looked annoyed and said it would be another 15 or so and walked away. I passed. I really liked the Philly cheese steak but the fries were cold not even close to warm and soggy. And, I ordered a Polish sausage sanwhich with coleslaw. The sandwich was very good the slaw was room temp but had a good flavor. Overall I enjoy Alpine and would eat there again but I would pass if the same lady was to wait on me. Her personality is nothing like he others that work there. Because of just her I give...

WORST SERVICE , great food. DO NOT EAT if you have a toddler. To start off, my family and I chose to eat breakfast around the peak so we were super understanding. When we arrived there was a couple ahead of us so. The diner was packed so we waited around 30 min to be seated. When the bar and booth was available we were skipped over. Luckily another group was leaving so were given a booth. We waited 20 min to put our order in. Waited another 20 min to have our food served. Groups and couple after is received there food before us. Not once were we checked on, I had to go to the front to ask for any silverware or condiments. We distracted our toddler as much as possible, but when we finally got to eat we had to rush it. Great food,...

I highly recommend the 2-2-2 breakfast. You get to taste everything. Are you hungry? Can’t decide where to eat? Are you looking for good food? Then this is the place for you to try. I visited big bear weeks ago and It was my first time to eat at this place. They have friendly staff and the place has a welcoming vibe. You are welcomed by the smell of good food being prepared and beautiful smiles and greetings from the staff. Food is exquisite, try it out for yourself. If you are looking for a Michelin restaurant then this is not the right place for you. But if you are looking for good food then this is the spot. I rate this place 10 out of 10 I will come back again.

I had the most pleasant meal here on a Friday night after working on my cabin all day. My pastrami burger was cooked well, and the fries were nice and crispy. This place has an all-American diner feel to it without dipping into the greasy spoon category. Service was friendly and prompt. They let me stay and read after my meal and didn’t rush me out to turn the table. Right off the main road thru town without having to go all the way West past the traffic of the Village area. They took the time to decorate for Valentines Day and manage to keep the mountain town affect. Next time I’ll try the birria plate.

This is a nice place to get great food for a good price. Portions are more than fair and the food is tasty. The decor is stuck in the 80's I think, but it's clean and the staff is great as they come around several times to make sure everything is ok. I never got past half a cup of coffee because they were always there to fill my cup up again. I loved that! My friend had the machaca plate and I had the Florentine eggs Benedict. No complaints here. Will go back again when I'm on my next Big Bear adventure
