Tips up has great potential. The entire reasturant is expertly decorated. The "Casino" area is in the far back of the bar, past the stage (extremely private). The menu is Devine, and has, quite honestly, one of the best chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The staff however needs improvement. I visited twice over the week I was in big sky. The first visit was during the evening, after a long day on the mountain we were looking for a cool place for a drink. The host sat us in front of the stage and told us to order from the bar directly, not an issue. I went to the bar and was given the most unwelcoming service I've had to date. I ordered the ladies of my party their drinks (very simple cocktails) which the bartender had no issues making. I then asked about their draft beer selection and she named off every beer they had on draft by name. which is very impressive, but I'm not a local and the draft beers are all locally brewed (this is a tourist destination). I asked her to pour me the local favorite Amber and I'd start with that. She looked me dead in the eyes and said "your going to have to tell me a name man". Needless to say we closed out the tab, finished those drinks and took our business up the street. Our second experience isn't as inhospitable. We came back for lunch a few days later. Ordered the spicy chicken with Tennessee drizzle and the Buffalo. Both are phenomenal. Our server that afternoon was a very nice young man. Our only wish was that he was more knowledgeable of the menu, but we understand this venue is very new.

This restaurant is one of the few that was recommended to dine at in the Big Sky area from the Discovery Map. The restaurant has a vibrant and laid-back design, with several events planned throughout the month. The food were phenomenal! I highly recommend soft pretzel sticks. Fresh out of the oven, the soft bread just melts with the cheese fondue. The portion was just large enough to satisfy you too! The service could use a bit of work. Our server had quickly process our bill, selecting the tip and taping our card for us, before getting us to sign it off. I understand they like to be fast and efficient, but I would like to look over and process the bill ourselves. Maybe this is the norm here, but I would still like to be the one to select and dictate the tip amount. Other than that, everything else was good.

This restaurant was very nice, with a cool atmosphere, but had some drawbacks that I was unable to ignore. Pros: Average prices - entrees averaging around $20 Good main entrees - all of the main courses that were ordered in our group were solid, including the fish and chips; buffalo chicken sandwich, and the steak and cheese sandwich Great atmosphere - great decorations inside, was a super fun place Cons: Self seating - could also be a pro, but was a con as we were unable to find a seat for roughly 45 minutes Side dishes - I mean frankly I was in shock when I received my side of ‘chips’ as lays potato chips that were still in the bag. For an $18 sandwich and chips, it is unacceptable that they couldn’t have even been taken out of the bag.

dinner as my friends and I visited Montana. First things first: you The food? Disappointing. The food was not worth the price and tasted microwaved. Nothing impressive.

I had called in the order over the phone, who I was talking to seemed to fully understand what exactly I ordered, but when we went to pick it up.. clearly they didn’t. The take out containers were labeled incorrectly (labeled food names which of none of them were inside the containers) and completely disregarded one persons order. I had called back correcting them and they said they’d take care of it.

I drove back to pick up the missing entree and when I was waiting, the person working at bar saw I was there to pick it up (they knew who I was because I was in there when we first picked it up) and acted like I wasn’t there and was just twidling their thumbs and just ignored me. I waited around 4 minutes (we made eye contact multiple times) assuming they would bring me my order since I waited at the bar to pick it up, then went to the person and they apologized and gave me my food.

The missing meal was so mid I actually was baffled. Not worth the drive back honestly. I ordered fish and chips ($24 mind you) and tasted like it was frozen food…

Overall, do NOT waste your money here. The amount of money we spent on the most mid food ever is ridiculous. Go somewhere else there because it’s not worth it. Disappointing to...

I’ve seen this on a few other reviews - Tips Up has great potential. Blue grass band was awesome and the vibe is great. The staff, however; is the downfall.

The hostess was confusing but we were able to get on the waitlist. They ended up skipping us for a friend of the owners and took us off the list. We came in and spoke to another gentleman who put us back on, which was helpful. We sat a little after 8:30 and weren’t able to order anything but the leftovers of the kitchen for the day. We wished they had told us that before we pushed to get sat. At 8:45 we saw multiple trays of food being walked out. We asked our server when the kitchen closed, she said 9:00pm. Bar staff was frustrating to speak to as well.

Our group just had 4 beers. When we ran the card, our waitress told us $12 but the screen on her handheld machine showed $14+ then she said it was actually $18 and change (makes sense since we got 4 beers) but THEN she charged one person separately saying “they were the last to order”. The waitress ran our cards and then walked away. When we asked if we needed to sign for anything (to add tip, we have all worked the industry - we get it), she said no, she went ahead and added the tip for us. Not okay.

It’s true, one guy looks just like Kenny powers so they have that going for them. Giving a star because the band was seriously great.

I hope they address this! It could be an...
