Cowboy Coffee is great. I often visited the Jackson Hole location so when I learned they were becoming a chain I was hesitant. Sometimes when companies become a chain qualities or practices begin to disappear. Thankfully that hasn’t happened with Cowboy. They’ve maintained the same feeling of their Jackson location up in Big Sky too. Cozy space, open mics, community events, looking out for locals etc. If a drink gets botched, the bean quality is still good to where youll likely not be upset. The company has their recipes locked in which helps avoid botched drinks. Therefore, when it’s consistent, I’m a huge fan. Plus the staff is willing to remake a drink if you’re unhappy. Which is also reassuring to the quality. Various times this winter I’ve gotten the Honey Badger drink that is a delightful blend of cayenne, cinnamon, and honey. However I’m not sure if it’s personal feelings by baristas or just a busy morning but several occasions it tasted more so like a latte rather than the ordered drink. On the topic of staff - shoutout to the cooks too, I’ve had the ability to try nearly all of the food and I enjoy everything I’ve had. The Cowboy Croissant in the morning is excellent and the Chicken Bacon Ranch or Lunch Burger (made with local beef or Rocky Mountain raised beef I believe) are some of the preferred choices. One of the cooks makes a sandwich that while it isn’t on the menu it’s still delicious. Shoutout to the “evil pig”. Breakfast burritos are a little thick and a slightly a lot but that’s literally just personal opinion and preference. There’s two options, veggie and meat. Both taste great still. Also! I’m not sure if it’s a seasonal item or if they’re here to stay but the breakfast empanadas are truly the best. They’re simple, tasty, and complement any drink choice. One thing I will say regarding the entire menu, transparency on allergens would be more than appreciated. Not just by me but by many others with moderate to severe food allergies. All in all, while I have two minor quarrels with allergen transparency and occasional drink consistency - things are still pretty great. Very talented baristas and kitchen crew. If you’re passing through West Yellowstone to Bozeman or coming to visit Big Sky, definitely stop by Cowboy Coffee. Oh also they make a real cafe Cubano. Almost forgot to mention that.

Read moreLoved this place! I can't do dairy so I'm always looking for dairy alternatives. Unlike a lot of other places, they have coconut milk. I ordered mochas both times and they were great. We visited the Cowboy Coffee in Big Sky which is located in a strip mall and connected to a clothing store. Because of their location, they have quite a bit of space and also a lot of Cowboy Coffee merchandise, which is great because their logo is adorable. Between the coffee shop and the clothing store there's a large table and also some high tops where you can enjoy a breakfast burrito or breakfast sandwich or some of their famous chili- which is what we ordered. I have to say, for fast food, it was pretty darn good. The other Cowboy Coffee in Jackson Hole is just a walk-up drive-thru but we did ask if they had travel mugs or travel cups for sale and they did have some hiding in the back. I was looking for last minute Christmas gifts and stocking stuffers and thought a cup from their store would be perfect. Although the nearest Cowboy Coffee is the distance away from where we live it has become my new favorite coffee place. I highly recommend if you have a chance to visit one of these unique little coffee shops, skip the Starbucks, and drive the extra distance because it...
Read moreI have been coming here 3 times a week for 6 months consistently. The food and drinks are great. Online ordering sucks and the service stresses me out. You can online order all you want , but drinks never get made until you show up and ask where they are. I’ve tried coming in 20 minutes past the promise times, I will show up on time and just wait to make sure they aren’t calling my name ., Doesn’t matter. The purpose of online ordering is ordering when I know I need my food by a certain time. At cowboy, I have to show up, wait for someone to acknowledge me , let them know my order was due 10 mins prior, and JUST THEN, they start making it. I think every day for the last two weeks I’ve waited an additional 30 minutes on top of my quote time for food and drinks just because they hadn’t even started it yet. It’s unreliable but at least I know that and don’t order if I have places I need to be (like work). Today my order was due at 8:35 and it’s currently 9:00 and my food is nowhere in sight. One drink was ready at 8:40 and the other is still in...
