This morning on my way to work, I decided I better get a coffee, but first, I needed to add some funds to my City Brew account as I didn't have enough for my coffee. It was shortly after 6 am, I was in my car, it was dark and I didn't have on my reading glasses. Dumb, I know, right?! I pulled out my phone, and while waiting for my order, added what I thought was $25 to my City Brew account in the City Brew app. I received my delicious latte and warm blueberry scone quickly and with a smile. After I arrived at work, I checked my City Brew account balance and discovered I had not added $25 to my account but rather $2,500! On the City Brew app was the opportunity to "Contact us" so I sent a request asking if it would be possible to get back the $2,500 I had added to my account in error. I knew it was my fault but thought it didn't hurt to ask.
I was pleasantly surprised a short time later to receive an email from Breckyn, with City Brew, apologizing to me for the mistake! It was my error and she apologized! I was asked to provide the last four digits of the debit card used for the transaction and shortly thereafter, I had a credit in my bank account for $2,500! My mistake, and they refunded me the whole amount the same day! Talk about service!! That was the best experience I have had in a very long time! City Brew did not have to give me back my money, but they did and did so promptly and very graciously!
Thank you Breckyn and the staff at the Shiloh Road and King Avenue City Brew for the excellent customer service! You made my day!

Read moreOkay. I have done a review for City Brew before for other locations, but this is the shop closest to my house. Early morning crew are upbeat and pleasant to deal with at 6am. However, I have discovered one or two things that have made me drop a star, but keep in mind, the drop is due to my preference in how I expect my coffee to be made. They are not pulling shots. If you are a coffee need, you know what I am saying. For those who are not as geeky over coffee, let me explain. City Brew uses fully automatic espresso machines. They grind the coffee, press into a puck and extract the coffee. There is no skill involved. This is where my problem is. Sure, it is awesome to get the same drink, made the same way everytime. But, I would rather have a barista that has the knowledge, passion and dedication to their craft. Someone who can dial in the proper grind for espresso, knows what ratio of coffee to water to use for a perfect espresso shot and knows how to adjust their technique depending on the roast level of the coffee being used (yes, espresso can be made from any roast, it does not have to be an insane dark roast). Again, this is me and my nerdy preference. Go to City Brew! You will not be...
Read moreHad to actually down grade from my last review due to current events. So this coffee chain has like every other place these days a rewards program and card. I figured what the heck and got the card to see what it was all about. Everything seemed fine for a while and got some perks since I drink a lot of coffee such as free drinks. Well there was a spell where I was loading the perks card with a debit card and made sure to tell the girl to load the perks card and use it, not only does she load it but instead uses my debit card to pay. Next time I went here I used my perks card and sure the money was taken off but for some reason for two whole months I had no activity on the card even though I just used it several times! Another time they charged my card twice because they said there wasn't enough funds on the card, no kidding ng you just double charged it! I don't try to be mean but I am seriously questioning the intelligence of the staff and if the perks card is even worth the time, I have yet to receive any sort of free drink or food item in the past two months so get this at...
