A buddy and I went to try the Korean Bbq at lunch. That's germaine to the review but I'll get to it later. So the menu has some typos/ misprints and we were a bit unsure but both ordered 2 meats since that's basically what it says. Well, we are both pretty big dudes but the amount of food that came out took up almost all of the table and then the owner comes over with a plate of sushi for free! So we are doing our best to eat the ribs and pork belly i ordered and the brisket and shrimp my bud ordered as well as the tasty sushi roll when the owner comes by again with a free bowl of squid salad! Dude is a feeder for sure...lol! The salad btw was not bad but I couldn't just eat a bowl of it. A couple of bites along with everything else we got was ok though. The meal comes with a big bowl of rice and soup or salad as well as kimchi and several kinds of banchan which are different pickled vegetables. Really tasty. You also get several sauces and garlic, fresh jalapenos and butter to use on the grill to cook the meat and the raw veg you also get. Onion, zucchini, and shrooms. It was all really good but there were a couple of negatives I'm afraid. One, the ribs were too tough to eat and two, we were stunned at the $63+ bill! As it turns out, each meat is priced individually even though it says choose 2 and the prices at lunch are from $12.95 for chicken up to $16.95 for shrimp. The dinner prices are about double that. So all of this to say...go hungry and ready to cook your own food on the tabletop grill and be prepared to pay a lot for more than one meat. Oh yeah, and the owner, who I now know is called Jimmy, gave us fried bananas with chocolate syrup and whipped cream! The guy loves to feed...
Read moreOf all the places to eat Asian food in Billings, this is the one I love the most. I’ve eaten here many times, and every time I leave happy.
Their food is delicious! If you get anything off their “Taste of Southeast Asia” or “Rolls”, you’re in for a fabulous meal. Their Orange Chicken, General Tso Chicken, and Mongolian Beef is to die for! As for their rolls, they are best known for their Spicy Girl Roll. I personally love their simpler Spider Roll or New York Roll. In fact some of their fancier special rolls are literal works of art! Lots of their appetizers are delicious, and I personally love both their miso and egg drop soup.
Fancy Sushi is not as pricey as other sit down Asian restaurants on average but also the portion sides are ample. They have a good lunch special if you can catch them during lunch.
I have yet to try their Korean BBQ - so can’t speak on that experience.
The ambience is relaxing. It’s not dirty and the bathrooms are always stocked and clean. The waiter that frequently is working there is lovely host. I’ve NEVER had bad customer experience from here.
I find this place is worth a good place to eat out when you wish you treat yourself, family, or friends. Love Fancy Sushi! Thank you for all the good meals and the...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about Fancy Sushi. This last visit I ordered a spider roll which did not list teriyaki sauce as an ingredient and I did not expect it because that is not the norm for a spider roll. It came drenched in the stuff. The roll consisted of 6 skinny slices of which I ate 2 after wiping as much sauce off as possible and my dining companion ate 1. Could not finish the rest, (which I never do because I love sushi). Our waiter did not ask at any point how our meal was but I decided to tell him politely about the problem to which he seemed unfazed. For an 11 dollar roll that was tiny and also soaked in strong sauce I thought perhaps it would be comped or at the very least discounted, but was not. Also my dining companions roll supposedly had filet mignon, but he reported it was extremely chewy. We did not mention this detail to the waiter because he didnt ask and didnt want to seem like winey jerks but we left feeling a little jipped and disappointed. Wish I could say better things about Fancy Sushi, they do seem to try at least to be polite most of the time but their food falls short and so does their ability/desire to remedy dissatisfied patrons which makes it difficult to...
