I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at La Palmita Mexican Restaurant in Billings, and I must say it was one of the most disappointing experiences I've had in a restaurant. The service was incredibly insulting and left a lot to be desired.
From the moment we arrived, it was evident that the staff had no interest in providing us with a pleasant dining experience. We were ignored for the majority of the time we were there, and it seemed like the staff members could not speak a word of English. This language barrier made it extremely difficult to communicate even the simplest requests.
One incident that stood out was when we wanted a lemon for our iced tea. Since we couldn't convey this to the staff verbally, we resorted to showing them a picture of a lemon. To our surprise, they brought us limes instead and informed us that they didn't carry lemons. It was frustrating to see such a lack of basic ingredients in a restaurant.
To make matters worse, we noticed that other customers who arrived after us were being served before us. Despite waiting for 30 minutes, we were continuously overlooked. It was clear that our presence was not a priority to the staff.
Another disappointing aspect of La Palmita Mexican Restaurant is that it is a dry location with no alcohol being served. While this may not be an issue for everyone, it certainly takes away from the overall dining experience for those who enjoy having a drink with their meal.
After enduring 90 minutes of poor service and feeling completely ignored, we finally decided to leave. It was a shame because the food itself was actually quite good. However, the awkward and disrespectful atmosphere created by the staff made it clear that we would never consider returning to La Palmita Mexican Restaurant.
In conclusion, I would strongly advise against dining at La Palmita Mexican Restaurant in Billings. The insulting service, language barrier, and lack of basic ingredients, combined with the uncomfortable atmosphere, overshadow any positive aspects such as the good food. Save yourself the disappointment and find a better dining option...
Read moreWe drew straws on which Mexican place to eat at when we were in Billings recently and this place was the winner. It was our first time eating here and my wife ordered the Camarones Al Ajo and I ordered the Super Macho Burrito smothered with a diablo sauce. The portions were amazing. My wife got about a dozen of decent sized shrimp mixed with a lot of onions, peppers and a sauce that she said was excellent. It also came with a generous portion of mexican rice and refried beans and only cost $19.25. My burrito came stuffed with rice and about 3/4 to 1 lb of meat, flavored just right and smothered in a diablo hot sauce. I was warned by the server that the diablo sauce was extremely hot. my wife talked me into trying it anyway. Server said if its too hot she will hook me up with something else to eat. Later, the cook brought me the food himself and he even warned me that the sauce is really hot. After a bite or two, I didn't think it was as hot as they made it sound. The diablo hot sauce did have a slight kick to it but the flavors of the peppers in the hot sauce were excellent, especially paired with the flavor of the meat & rice inside the burrito. The burrito also came with a generous portion of Mexican rice and refried beans all for only $16.50. Our server was Jani and she was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful. Our first impression and experience of this place was amazing and we definitely will be back again when we are...
Read moreHost had no clue what he was doing. Sat all the tables in one cluster area of the restaurant. Our booth was falling apart. Sank in when sat down like there is no support had to sit on the edge. Cleanliness of the restaurant was sub par. Sticky menus, dirty tables, dirty floors, and the servers were standing around. The server I had didn't care about us at all. The other server brought us our food while ours was talking with the host leaning on the bar area. The host had to get our ticket for us then as soon as he dropped off the ticket our server ran over and snatched my card out of my hand so fast. Never got a refill on drink, finally asked for more salsa at the end and she gave me a Togo cup or it but the host stood there while I packed up our food and took our chips even BEFORE we were done. Was going to complain at the restaurant but I felt the vibe was they wouldn't care. Alsoooooo they should not advertise authentic Mexican when it's not! It's a very poor version of Mexi-cali. My plate was almost $20 and the plate was hot AF but the food was cold. Like I didn't have to blow on it at all before giving a bite to my baby!! I couldn't even get my server to inform her. So I asked to the host for the check. I understand being busy......... But they had 4 tables in the whole restaurant including us! Also the chips were stale and some soggy even. 🙄 For my kid to not want the chips that's sad. He...
