Only cider mill in Billings. Great tastes with unique cider flavors. Would like to see them step out of their comfort zone with a pineapple or spicy cider though.
Update: Been coming here a lot and have had a lot of their food now. Brussel sprouts are amazing! Wagyu burger is also very good but a bit too juicy, tends to fall apart.
Flatbread has great flavor with candied pineapple, but dough is not crispy almost like it's missing a leavening agent. Not a good choice in the pizza-like format they present it in. Fix this and the flatbreads will be the best in town, the flavor is there!
Sweet potato joe-joes are a good dessert, they should split that up into an actual dessert menu instead of appetizer menu, along with their cheesecake (which is heavenly btw). Feature the dessert prominently on the menu, not just a forgotten side menu.
Nachos are always a solid pick, but I wish their small was cheaper and a smaller portion. It's hard to finish alone and nachos aren't something you want to have leftovers of as they go soggy.
Onto the drinks: any flavor Ceyser is great (been drinking the honey one lately). Honestly all their barrel aged ciders are amazing. They provide interesting flavors that someone who prefers cider over beer usually lacks, very nice. The hot cinnamon Ceyzer is genius, keep it around all year and advertise it more!
Still waiting for that pineapple or spicy cider, I know y'all can deliver so let's see it!
After years of coming here, I can say definitely that this place deserves 5 stars, they get the cider model right. I only leave these criticisms in good spirit in the hope that they pursue that mythical "6-star"...
Read moreWe visited this place back in July 2019 while overnighting at the KOA. We were road worn and NOT excited by our KOA spot. We'd almost run out of gas while following Google maps through various farmers fields. What I mean to convey is that we were not in a great frame of mind when we arrived. But my wife LOVES cider so when I saw that Billings had a cidery we cleaned up to the best of our ability and drove over. We sat in the bar and ordered two flights for my wife to sample while I sampled the local beers. The cider was very, very good and the beers were great but the reason I'm writing this review in 2025 is because they had a sandwich that my wife is STILL talking about. It was called "The Father-In-Law Sandwich". It was pork sandwich with marmalade and it blew her mind. It was the marmalade that really blew her mind and it wasn't even listed on the menu as one of the ingredients. Actually, she wanted the Indian Bison Taco but they were out of that so she picked the sandwich as the next best thing. She wasn't excited and our headspace was already not great but the "Father-In-Law" blew her mind. I'm not kidding. I'm only doing this review because she still brings it up six years later. Neither the tacos she wanted nor the sandwich are still on the menu which is a major bummer but when we really needed one thing to go right on a day that had kicked out asses the Last Chance Cider Mill exceeded all expectations. So thank you Last Chance Pub & Cider Mill. We will always remember you very fondly.
If they ever bring back either of those sandwiches we plan on flying to Billings from Vegas just to...
Read moreNice spot in Billings for a cool drink and a tasty, inspired meal. Ciders are made on site. Either dry or sweet to choose from. We did the flathead cherry, dry and tart (from Montana Flathead Cherries) and an apricot, which was a bit sweeter. They are owned by Red Lodge Ales, so there are brews on tap. Tuesday is pint night, where a local non profit gets a dollar a pint. The decor is very well done, being designed by the owner's daughter. A German inspired fireplace highlights the room and is lit and maintained when temps are below 40. Various tables look like they were made from mechanical trash left from a former business. For dinner we had fish and chips, hands cut cod and fries which came with tartar sauce and a unique molasses and vinegar sauce, and the porchetta or what the menu called "the father in law". The latter is a seasoned pork belly wrapped around pork loin with salsa, baby male, smoked mozzarella on grilled ciabatta bread served with hand cut, sea salt and vinegar chips. For dessert we shared a maple pecan bread pudding. It was freshly prepared and seemed a nice palate reliever. Wes was our server and he did a nice job. He was very knowledgeable about all the libations and food offerings. Well worth a visit to the Last Chance. Free parking is available across the street on...
