Last night April 4th what's my son's 16th birthday. Because it was so late once I got off work and home there wasn't enough time to go to any sit-down restaurants so we decided to go to the sugar factory in the Hard Rock. I have no complaints at all about the Hard Rock Casino. The security guard was very professional and even joked with him about not gambling because he could tell it was his first time ever in a casino. Once we got seated when we asked for some tea the waitress told us she didn't think they had any tea but she would go look, she came back and she would have to brew some, that it would take a few minutes which was fine, but then she came back and said that they don't even have tea bags. are you kidding me how do you not have tea bags. and worse how do you not know you don't have any tea bags. So we all got Waters and my wife got a Pepsi. After the food finally came out which was actually pretty good. Obviously we needed some refills I mean the cups are no bigger than a rocks glass. Even after our server came and spoke as she was walking by she didn't have the foresight to see that our cups were almost empty I mean we weren't sucking air yet but I mean come on you're a server my cup shouldn't ever be close to empty more than a few minutes and as slow as they was there's no excuse. But what really got me was when I heard a group of females laughing behind me and her and about 6 or so other employees with the same shirt we're sitting down taking a break which is fine except for their two tables away and I'm on the edge so clearly they can all see my glass I even turned around and looked at her once or twice there's no way she consciously didn't see that if she didn't she's definitely in the wrong business and then when another server finally walked by I asked her if she would tell my server that I needed a refill. About 5 minutes went by and the server I asked finally came by with my refill, which was fine I'm sure she had her own tables to deal with but by this time my wife and son both need a refill needless to say the server who dropped of my water continued on what she was doing. not really her fault but if she's a server she noticed that their glasses were empty. you can't not notice a empty cup if you're a server. And then finally our server came back and asked if we needed anything my wife yes ma'am we need some refills because I didn't' want to say anything and ruin my son's birthday dinner. So when she came back with my wife's drink only. She asked if we needed anything else, again my wife being as polite as possible, said yes ma'am a refill. My son's glass is empty at this point for about 10 minutes. So in the meantime he was drinking his mom's water because she had Pepsi but obviously if she's a server she would have seen that his cup was empty that he was drinking somebody else's cup because it's been that long since he had something to drink but clearly she's either new or just don't really care about her customers because what she didn't know is that my wife has been a bartender / server since she was 21 years old and over the years I've worked in the front of the house of restaurants a few times so we both fully understand the job at hand and what tipping is about and if it would have been up to me I wouldn't have gave her a single penny because she really was horrible. I mean she was either blatantly rude or just incompetent. But I reluctantly left her to change from paying the bill about $7. And if she would have been a half decent server she would have ended up with about $30/$40 tip because we had already put more than enough aside for dinner and it actually was a good price it was only like $74 for all three of us. So she would have gotten change from no less than $100. Probably $120 knowing my wife. But instead she got the change from $80. We were sitting behind the podium and in front of the east wait station, in a half booth facing the bar with the isle between us and tables on the wall. Hopefully management will understand what table we were at. And I pray this...
Read moreSave your money, our experience at the Biloxi Sugar Factory was a SUGAR NIGHTMARE! I had 4 teenagers that were very excited to go to the Sugar Factory. It was one of our vacation checklist items, which I think makes the actual experience so much worse. We ordered two of their signature goblet drinks, one was okay but the other was so sour my girls couldn't drink it. It had taken our server over 20 mins just to bring those drinks, then it took another 15 mins for her to come back to get our food order. We started to order the "rainbow sliders" only to be told they were all out of those. We wanted to save room for dessert so we ordered two burgers to share a side of mac and cheese and a Caesar salad. After waiting for over 40 mins for the food to come out our server comes over to tell us that they are out of mac and cheese and caesar dressing, 🤯. By this time we have been there over an hour and half with nothing but drinks, two of which were water and ice tea that she never refilled. But it was too late to go anywhere else so we ordered a different pasta and salad dressing. It took another 10 mins for our food to come out, and when it arrived, we were beyond disappointed. The burgers were extremely dry. The bun was hard on the outside and chewy on the inside. My "caesar" salad was more cheese then lettuce and my daughter's pasta Alfredo was warm at best. After bringing the food the server asked if we needed anything else, "yes silverware would be nice for the salad and pasta, napkins, refills on our non-goblet drinks and the waters I asked for 20 mins ago, thanks". We were so frustrated by then that we ate our food and unfortunately just skipped dessert, and left. The whole reason for going there was to get their famous deserts but we probably would have been there another 2 hours if we would have ordered anything else at that point. The music was so loud we couldn't hear our server even after asking her to speak up several times eventually we just gave up. The smoke from the Casino floor was nauseating, and 4 out of the 6 of us had headaches by the time we left. Someone might say, "well that's what you get for ordering food at a place called the Sugar Factory" and maybe it would have been different if we had just ordered desserts but, my point is that the entire experience was bad. The food was the third worst part of the experience not the first, and no one on the staff made any effort to make up for the horrible experience, not even an apology! Not to mention that the restaurant had very few customers, maybe I would feel bad for our server if the place was packed and she had a ton of tables but we were literally her only table. Never again, Sugar...
Read moreIt's a good and different experience but only concerning food. I'm beginning to wonder how they advertise that so many famous ppl come there. Possibly because there's not many other places to go around here in biloxi? I wonder how long ago those pics were taken and if their management has changed. I say this because each of the 3 times I have gone it' was very very slow and something was always wrong with the order. I also asked for a sandwich to be cut in half and they couldnt do it because it might fall over. Ok get some toothpicks to satisfy the customer. Seems small but who likes to be told no when paying and especially for the simple request. The serving is very average. They always seem like they are in a rush. Its no different than going to a Fridays. But again it's an experience for the food. Heres a compilation of my times going.. 1 breakfast , 1 to go, and 1 dinner bday for a kid. The waffle burger is banging. It's enough to share with another adult or kid. I had the breakfast quesadillas. Mine are better at home and they are not quesadillas. They are 3 open soft shell tacos. No special sauce just eggs and bacon in a shell. Boring. I had the chicken fettuccine. Omg banging. Not enough to share if you like food. I wish I had ordered my kid their own meal. I also had their rainbow sliders. Waste of money. Don't do it. The novelty is cute. But the burgers are dry and there's nothing special but bun and bread. I'd rather pay for SpongeBob pretty patties. I had 4 kids and none of them ate the sliders. I had the expensive a$$ milkshake. It was certainly good. Chocolate on the outside? Way cool and it was good. We had the one with the cotton candy. A friend of mine said their steak and eggs was good for breakfast. They didn't ask her how to cook the steak so she was scare but it came out medium well. Another girl had jam and cheese ommelette add bacon and spinach. So listen.. the first time it comes out without the additions and the server just hands it to us.. didn't make sure the order was right.. They take it back (wrong because they should have let her just keep it) and bring her a new one. Tell me why they did not give her ham but added the bacon and spinach. Smh. The bday song is pretty cool. It's different. They play your favorite song on loud but only for about 90 seconds then they turn it down. But its a slight show. Ok hopefully I gave you some good ideas on food. Oh. The alcoholic drinks are good for those who like the sweet specialty drinks. Over the dry ice. It's also a show. Good...
