My husband and I visited here for our anniversary weekend. We stayed 3 nights. Went to a couple of shows @ Beau Rivage & Hard Rock. This hotel is in a great location. Right across from Beau & about 2 blocks from Hard Rock. Check in was ok. Staff could use some customer service training. Everyone I encountered was lackluster, not exemplary. I wouldn't use the word "friendly" at all. I felt like I was bothering them when checking in and out and the three times I visited front desk during our stay. I encountered 3 different staff members at the front desk face to face and all were equally non-chalant and overall disinterested as if they hate their jobs. When checking out @ 10:45 am on Monday, the clerk had her head on the desk and looked barely awake. She didn't greet us, I had to greet her and let her know I was checking out. She could care less, just printed my receipt. I said "thank you", she said nothing, no "thank you for choosing Best Western" or anything. Stone cold facial expression. The room was clean, linens were clean. Towels were treated like a piece of gold. We couldn't receive a clean towel unless we exchanged a towel. The room came with only TWO bath towels, which seems a bit scarce. Friday evening we showered before the show, my husband dropped his towel on the floor and didn't want to use it again. On the way back to our room (10pm), we stopped at the desk and asked for 2 more towels. We were told by a very stoic male employee that only 2 towels come with a king room and we couldn't get anymore until 6am. The employees don't have the keys to the linen room??? So we shared my towel for our showers Fri night. What if there is a late check-in and the room is missing towels or the towels aren't satisfactory? No one can access the linen room? Seems odd. The next morning, my husband went down for breakfast and saw a housekeeper down the hall. He asked for two towels. She said he had to bring her the dirty towels before getting fresh ones. He came to the room and retrieved the towels so that he could do an even exchange. There must be a towel shortage in Biloxi. The towels certainly aren't nice enough for one to want to take them home. So why are they so scarce at this hotel?
Speaking of breakfast, there are hot food offerings, however most of the serving pans were empty 2 mornings straight (Sat & Sun). We got a bagel & a banana since there was no hot food available. We skipped it on Monday & went to waffle house. We went to breakfast around 8-9am. The food should have been plentiful during this time or at least be restocked since breakfast runs until 10am.
The towel rack in the room was very loose, screws protruding from the rack. We reported this and it was repaired immediately.
On Sunday, we put our "service the room" sign on the door prior to leaving at 10am for a day of shopping. The signs say put the sign on your door before 12pm We wanted the towels exchanged (left on the floor as instructed) and the trash emptied and the room freshened up. We returned around 5:30pm and the room had not been serviced. We called front desk and were told housekeeping staff is gone for the day and that the maintenance person would bring towels to exchange and we could put the trash outside of the door. What's the purpose of putting out the sign if it will be ignored? The sofa/loveseat had a musty smell as if it hadn't been cleaned or disinfected for a while. The bed was comfortable, however the blanket was thin. My husband likes the room cold, I don't. Normally, I just wrap up in the blanket, but this one was no help. So we adjusted the temperature so that we would both be somewhat comfortable. Comforters would be better than just the thin blanket and thin top cover. There was a large hole in the sheer curtain, looks like a burn hole. This stay overall was okay. I'm not sure I would stay here again. If I do, I would bring...
Read moreWe stayed last Saturday night because we wanted to have a nice night out visiting the casinos along Beach Blvd. We arrived in our room after check in and the air conditioner was running nice and cold. Noticed almost immediately that our blanket on the bed had a cigarette burn in it, but didnt let it change our plans. We left our things and went out for a fun evening. Got back to the hotel and went to sleep, woke up a lot earlier than planned when I stretched and felt the bottom of the bed was SOAKING WET. I was so confused. Immediately woke my boyfriend up and turned the lights on to see water dripping/running at times from the ceiling above the bed! I called the front desk and they sent over housekeeping and then a maintenance worker, who acknowledged this was happening. they went to check out the room above us in which the air conditioner must have malfunctioned and flooded the room above us and was now coming thru our ceiling. We had to hurriedly pack our things and leave earlier than we had hoped. Went to check out and asked for some resolution and was given the general managers name and phone number to call the next day.
When I spoke to the GM the following morning she offered to give me 50% of a future stay. I had booked through priceline and told her that I was going to contact them to get money back instead. Priceline was understanding and helpful and the GM at the hotel approved at 50% refund, which i guess was better than nothing, but this experience 100% ruined the only morning that my boyfriend had the chance to sleep in, while working 6...
Read moreI was traveling here to visit a school and so they paid for it. The hotel was nice enough to not make me cover the security deposit since I didn't pay for the room. THE ROOM however was NOT NICE. After entering the room, it immediately smelled of smoke- even though the whole facility is non-smoking. We saw several people disobeying this by smoking just outside with their room with the doors open (obviously all the smoke went inside). This is clearly what went on in our room previously if the person hadn't smoked inside. Since I didn't pay for the room I didn't feel comfortable asking to change, and I also expected all of the rooms to be the same if not worse (especially since seeing several people smoking upon arrival). If you want a real non smoking room, demand a non balcony room. They didn't have any non balconies when we checked in- even though thats what we reserved. Definitely unhappy with the experience here. Breakfast options were okay but limited. If you don't eat meat you won't have a hot option besides a waffle or plain biscuit (no eggs available). I ate cereal both days. The individual serving food was not wearing a mask even though there are several signs that say everyone needs to when inside and it would make the most sense for them to... They don't enforce the mask policy even though I'm pretty sure it is Best Western's policy. Just be aware if this is something...
