Internet, do your thing. We went to Halo Burger in Birch Run. We went with a large group. Our daughter ended vomiting all over the table. She couldn’t make it to the bathroom and had gotten sick in the hall and then again in the bathroom. I have never seen a bug hit so suddenly but it really did. No food touched her lips so I know it wasn’t HaloBurger’s food. As I was helping my daughter clean up in the bathroom I went to see if I could get ahold of a mop and was going to to clean it up myself. A young man that worked there beat me to it and insisted he clean it up. I tried getting him to let me but he kindly insisted telling me not to worry about it and he just wanted us to have a good night. He was wiping up the rest of her vomit off the floor. Last wipe when his phone flew out of his pocket and landed on the floor. It looked like it was powered down. It landed right where the vomit was. I insisted on sanitizing the cover for him. He kindly turned me down. I went to get a little cash from my husband (we share this account) as a thank you to this young man for taking such good care of us. I went up front looking for him and asking for him. The elderly woman working behind the counter knew what I wanted to do without me saying and multiple times she told, “We cannot except cash from customers.” When your child throws up and someone cleans it up, you want to bless them. Especially when they do it with the best attitude in the world and the kindness of their hearts. This kid seriously needs a bit fat bonus or blessing. Since you won’t let me give him anything, please pay forward the kindness to him and bless him extra. Good character like that will go a long way. I would’ve given 5 stars if I could’ve given him a little cash as a thank you. I didn’t have much but was giving from my heart. Please do something really special for him. This kid is going places in life. Thank you, young man for...
Read moreI went through the drive through, had a simple order and was spoken down to and inappropriately. I am ALWAYS friendly when I go to restaurants, I ALWAYS say please and thank you. With that said, the person that took my order happened to be the manager. I confirmed that when I arrived at the pick up window and the person receiving my money and handing my food to me didn't match the voice from whom took my order. My complaint is that I ordered one meal, #1 deluxe with cheese, diet for a drink and tater tots instead of fries. She, according to the receipt's name is M..ka, spoke to me as if I were a child, she interrupted me so many times that she wasn't listening to what I was ordering. I do not think this was a technical issue, her voice was clear and condescending. I could go into unnecessary detail about our word for word conversation, but the message is that any business that deals directly with consumers needs to have appropriate employees. She wouldn't listen to my answers then required me to repeat what I attempted to answer several times, all the while speaking to me as if I were a toddler requiring explanation. Hind site, I should've canceled my order and not give my business to establishments that allow this. When I asked the friendly young lady that handed me my food if it was the manager that took my order, she put her head down slightly, and said yes. Her body language confirmed to me that she was fully aware of why I asked that question. I attempted to call customer care for Halo Burger corporate, however, the menu states to press #1 and then it disconnects the call. I've tried to call several times the day of service, a Friday and again today on Monday. Same...
Read moreNormally Halo Burger is a treat for us when traveling. We've been to the Frankenmuth location once before and the Flint location once before and both were really good. Our experience in Frankenmuth this time was not so great. I noticed the menu said that you can get the burger bunless. I asked the order taker if it came wrapped in lettuce and she clearly said yes. Somehow though there was a miscommunication and it just came with the burger, lettuce, and condiments in a box, not wrapped in lettuce. Plus there is no fork to eat it. I went inside to get it wrapped in lettuce and they told me they don't do that. I told them I must have misunderstood. No big deal, so I just asked for a bun since I had no way of eating it without making a mess. They literally discussed it with 4 different employees and schooled me about how they don't wrap burgers in lettuce. Meanwhile, I kept telling them I didn't care and that I just wanted the bun. All this in front of a bunch of customers while my burger was getting cold. Finally, I got the bun and headed out. Despite being half cold, the burger was still good. The other food, meh, not so much. We had fries and cheese curds and dino nuggets for the grandkids. They were over-fried and just didn't taste good. Will this experience stop us from going? No. We will definitely give Halo burger another chance. Hopefully, it was just a one-time experience with employees with poor customer service skills and an over zealous...
