As someone with a background in hospitality—including years at major brands like Longhorn, owning my own coffee shop, and running a coffee company—I don’t take service critiques lightly. But I have to say, the 7 Brewer on Montclair Road has been consistently disappointing.

It’s not just the wrong drink orders—it’s the lack of urgency, the absence of leadership, and the fact that I’ve waited 30 minutes for a single drink on a slow day. That’s not just inconvenient—it’s unacceptable. I wouldn’t feel comfortable sending my own child to work there, because the disorganization is that noticeable.

The staff is kind, yes. But kindness without training, accountability, or efficiency doesn’t create a quality customer experience. In stark contrast, I’ve never had an issue at the Choiceville location. That team knows how to deliver.

Montclair needs immediate attention—from the store manager on down. It’s not just a one-time issue....

When they first opened, they brought free coffee to my workplace, so I already loved them! Now since going on a more consistent basis before work, I can definitely say the coffee is really good (especially the white chocolate mocha with oat milk), affordable, and the customer service is always great.
