I went to the Panera in Blacksburg this morning and had a terrible experience. I walked in with my daughter, and we clearly and slowly stated what we would like. We ordered one cafe latte, one fountain drink, and two sausage and egg sandwiches. We ended up waiting 40 minutes for our order, even though there wasn’t anyone in front of us in line. The two guys in the back were joking and chatting and slowly pushing out orders and didn’t take our order seriously, even though we were on a deadline and needed to leave. We got our food, but we didn’t get the cafe latte. We asked someone whether it was coming out soon, and they went back to check for about 10 minutes before we got a response, and they told us that we didn’t order a cafe latte. We did, and it was the very first thing we ordered. Eventually a manager stopped by and asked whether we were the ones that ordered the latte. We said yes, and asked whether we could get it quickly since we had to leave and we already spent a lot of time waiting for our food. We got a nod and they went to the back to make it but we had a couple employees during that 10 minute waiting period for a single latte continue to check and ask us whether we did in fact say a latte and whether it was hot about 3-4 times before we actually got the latte. It was now an hour we were waiting for our order and we finally left. When we got in the car and opened up our order, neither of the sandwiches were egg and sausage. One was a cinnamon crunch bagel with ham and egg, and the other a cheese bagel. We really needed to go and were already late to our prior engagement so we didn’t go back in to ask for our real order, because it’ll likely take 20-30 min before they even hand it to us. In all 20 years I’ve lived in Blacksburg and gone to this Panera I have never had a good experience, but I’ve never had one as bad as this, and thought this was bad enough to sit down and give my review so that at least the managers are aware of this...
Read moreIf I could leave an 0 star I would. Ordered through door dash. They left out 1/2 the order. Food I got was good so they get 1 star for that. Tried calling the store multiple times to get someone to answer since they left out 1/2 our order and no answer so we went to Panera Bread and the lady at the counter that worked on 8-23-25 was extremely disrespectful and laughed at us since we didn’t get the rest of our order. There was a nice gentleman that came up from the back who said we couldn’t have a refund instead could offer us what the still had available. The overall experience with the girl in the restaurant just made me never want to order from this restaurant again because now we have lost our trust in them and never been came across someone so rude and disrespectful. I’m not one to leave such a negative review but the owner and or manager of this location hopefully will see this and can make changes and or offer the girl employee additional training so she knows how to appropriately help a customer who just wanted the food they already paid for. As of now I won’t recommend ordering or eating from this establishment due to...
Read moreChaos, complete and utter chaos! Overpriced and a 45 min wait for a simple order: 2 bowls of soup and a panini. The person who took our order, mumbled and looked at the floor when she spoke so we had to keep asking her to repeat what she said. Kitchen clearly also had no clue about how to prep and fulfill orders. The dining room was filthy, with trash and food everywhere, overflowing plate/tray bins, etc. At one point a pile of ice fell out of the ice shoot on to the floor and walkway of traffic by the drink station, and a staff member walked by it and laughed. When we did finally get our order, the panini was short on meat and long on bread, also it was still cold inside. Hint to improve this place, dump the staff of clueless college kids and get people in there that are capable of working (the order filling gal had to repeat aloud each order to herself before she could start to work on it) I thought teaching children to read silently happened in the first grade - evidently she is still working on that skill at VT. This was our first experience at a Panera, needless to say we won't be back...
