My boyfriend and I live about a mile from this location and will be going out of our way to go to a different Applebees. We have been there 5 times and received poor service every time. They have Slow service, poor quality food. We visited one time and didn't even know who our server was because of all the changes in staff. They also gave us our bill 3 minutes after we received our meal which, in my opinion, is rude. The only positive is the hostess. She's been there every time we have visited and is kind and helpful. However, We will not be returning.
We went back against our better judgement. We were seated and waited 10 minutes and no one had greeted us even though the place was EMPTY. On our way out we were stopped by the manager who convinced us to stay. Turns out the wait staff just passed us around and eventually forgot about our table. The manager (Rick, I believe) treated us very well. He paid for our meal and gave us 20 off our next meal.
We went back last night to redeem our $20 off. It stared out nice. The waiter was kind. However, it went downhill from there. The building was once again empty - during Happy Hour. We watched our drinks sit at the bar as the ice watered them down, I asked for extra sauce because my pasta was dry and it took 20 minutes to get it; because the cook thought the waiter was kidding when he asked for it. I ordered a second drink and never got it. What seemed to be the entire staff (including the manager - who was not the man who helped us our last visit) sat at a high top table our entire meal and chatted/giggled loudly. At the end of our meal 5 or 6 people emerged from the kitchen loudly saying goodbye to their co-workers up front - very loudly and disrespectfully.
The whole point to this is that NO ONE does their job right there. Even if I got free meals for the rest of my life from that Applebees I would never return. If I could give them no stars, I would....
Read moreIf I could give this store less than a one I would. The service was inattentive and slow. Now, I am one to be understanding and realize that we all have off days, and that the waitress was seated several tables at once. I, also, believe it is the manager's duty to help. When a sandwich of ours came back unappetizing and falling apart, we asked that it be remade (another server noticed and took it back - ours was gone for a very long time). When it came back and looked better, we were pleased, but still unhappy with the slow service. The bill came back and it was for full price for everything. It even showed the sandwich comp., but then added on again. For inventory and records purposes, I understood, but wholeheartedly felt that it should have been discounted at least. When we spoke with the manager she said, "well, that's what we have to do." In which my reply was, "I understand completely, but seeing as the second sandwich came out after we already finished our other meals is an inconvenience and should at least be discounted." She said, "I can comp. your sandwich if you want." (I shouldn't have to answer or even be asked. It should have been that way from the beginning.) When we explained the service to her as well, she said, "I will go ahead and comp. your meal." and then walked away.... Very condensing.. The MANAGER made us feel like we were just expecting a hand out, but all we wanted was decent service and a great meal. We got neither of those. Paying for the meal was great, but under those circumstances, I will NEVER be back to that location. EVER. I would rather travel to Coon Rapids Applebee's than...
Read moreAttempted to dine in at 12:50 on Sunday 1/24. We walked in and there were a total of 4 patrons at tables and at least 5 staff members that we observed, all hovering and chatting in front of their POS system. We were seated almost immediately and waited 15 minutes before we walked out. We weren’t handed a menu, no waters, no drink order taken. What makes it worse, 10 minutes before we left, we pressed the “call server” button on our tablet and still, nothing. Way to go, Applebee’s. Mind you, during this time, 2 staff members walked right by us and didn’t acknowledge our existence, let alone the flashing red light on the tablet at the end of the table. This wasn’t our top pick (unfortunately the restaurant we wanted to dine at next door was closed permanently) and we even contemplated going to this location due to a previous poor experience. This was our last shot and we won’t ever be back. I don’t know how Applebee’s is even in business, their horrible service isn’t just partial to this location. We enjoyed a nice lunch at a competitor, who was eager to provide above and beyond service, especially amidst the pandemic when everything should...
