Called ahead, had order ready when I got there. Hot & fresh
Had to revise me previous review. At least 3 times since, we have had less that great service. We always order 20pc all white, so we know it takes time. We always call ahead because they always say 25 minutes. We'll we call ahead, was told 25 minutes of course. That part is not a problem because we live about an hour away. We don't have a Brown's any closer, and that is what the wife wanted. I arrive a little early (about 5 minutes) and was told they were finishing the order,so about 10 minutes. Ok, that's only 5 minutes more than I was told, so no big deal. I play some words with friends, and decided to check the time on the receipt. 25 minutes had past. I go to the window and asked the young lady "Are you almost done with my order, you said 10 minutes 25 minutes ago?" She kind of rolled her eyes and said she was waiting on the fries. Once the fries were done, she put them in the bag and just shoved the to the front of the desk. Since there were other people there, I asked if the bags were mine. She says "yeah" without even turning around. No sorry for the addional wait, no thank you, no nothing... I just spent $60 plus with you, you make me wait a half hour longer that you said it would take (they were not that busy, it was about noonish and when I pulled into the lot I was the only car there) and you give me attitude for having the nerve to ask about the progress of my order. I mean it it's going to take 45 minutes, say 45 minutes not 25 minutes. For that and the previous trips I had to re-evaluate how I graded this business. Plus, the corn fritters were greasy, the chicken over cooked (still edible) and the fries were waaaay to salty. Threw the fritters out as well as the fries. If I knew they were going to be that bad, I would have told them to keep them so the wait wouldn't have...
Read moreTo all that are leaving negative reviews about greasy chicken, mushrooms , etc.. What you expect? Go to Subway if you dont want something fried. I ate this food and it reminded me of all the times my folks would get Browns back in the day. I got Mr. Browns favorite with chicken, mushrooms, and 2 sides plus corn for about 40 bucks which is similar to what you would pay in other fried chicken joints. The chicken was crispy and juicy inside, the mushrooms were nice and tasty. And no complains about other food. The indoor dining area could use some attention. What you heard about maintenance in these reviews is true. But I see some construction supplies so maybe they are going to fix the place up one day.
This is my 3rd time here I have never had burnt food and the service was good.
As for the ppl that complain and b**ch about erthang else. Maybe you shouldn't make ordering food a project and be so cheap. This ain't Buckingham Palace. If you dont like it go anywhere else but I'll tell you that it's starting to look like slim pickins out here and the community youths have a hard time following directions. Ive spent over 30 bucks on food before at other establishments with having to wait long times (even tho ordered online) and the food comes out like sh!t or sometimes the order ain't complete and missing stuff.
Anyways good work to the hard working gentlemen at Browns Chicken in...
Read moreAfter an absence of about six months, I was eager for what I considered was the best Browns chicken I have ever visited. The employees were warm and friendly, The chicken was golden tan , flavorful, hot, fresh, cooked to perfection. The biscuits were golden, flaky, buttery and literally melted in your mouth and this is what I was expecting. What I got was new management, cold service, no deals advertised, dark brown ( close to burnt)hard , absolutely flavorless chicken that was fried in very old grease. The biscuits were double the size of the old ones, unbrowned, salty, raw and doughy in the middle salty and ghastly tasting. Basically hockey pucks. the mashed potatoes were dense with unmovable "Gel" that was supposed to be gravy. I spent $20 on three (the hard way) piece chicken,6 biscuits and a small lump of cement . To top it off they don't have any browns chicken bags anymore. Brown paper bags are stapled . Check before you leave please. Suffice it to say, I won't be buying from here ever again.I don't think this is a browns...
