Yesterday was my first Zarlengo's experience... I had an Artic Blast (1/2 Vanilla ice cream with 1/4 mango & 1/4 passion fruit Italian Ice!). It was soooo good! 😋
On top of the unique pairing of soft serve with Italian ice, the soft serve ice cream alone seemed above what you get at any other establishment. It was especially 'rich' (thick & creamy). Also, though the passion fruit Italian Ice was the stand out star for me (I ❤ passion fruit😊... when done right #generously 😉), the mango Italian Ice was very good as well with chunks of mango! Back to the passion fruit🤗, this is the only place I've heard of selling 'passion fruit' Italian ice (in the greater Chicagoland area) & did not disappoint on actual flavor of passion fruit. Thank you sooo much Zarlengo's. You've nailed it!...
So you ice cream or Italian ice or both, you won't be disappointed. I plan to to visit often... especially exploring the Italian Ice options. 😁
(4 stars because there was no written print out that verified our order... especially considering the two flavors I chose are the same color. So it wasn't until I ate enough of the passion fruit and ice cream that my concerns about the order possibly being wrong, subsided😏)
Oh, and during these social distancing times, though the car line was fairly long (testament to the delicious offerings); it was nicely organized... and safe (keeping people off the main road by utilizing their other lot). Thank...
Read moreWhat I got tasted good, yet it came with a side of attitude. I had to wait 50@ minutes in line with only 3 cars in front of me and only 2 cars received orders through the window (one of the two was my car) by the time I got to the window I was Able to pull up a full menu on their Facebook page with tons of custom flavors.
To which I asked for several while the girl at the window casually kept asking another young lady in the background "do we have this or that flavor?" The young lady in the background seemed so much more interested in her side conversation with another young male I could hear nasal snarks her huffing and puffing and even her smacking her teeth between being asked if the current flavors listed on their Facebook page were available. At one point she even snapped at the girl and it sounded as if it was directed towards me "what is she talking about!, We don't sell that!?" In the most disgusting and disrespectful tone it made my eyebrows go up.
Finally I ordered 'something' the cashier then tells me cash only. I got a 4oz scoop of what I felt like was "whatever'. The only good thing I experienced at this merchant was the fact that I went to the bank the previous day and still had money left over to cover the cost....
Read moreThis rating shows how a great product can be sullied by a bad customer service review. Tonight was our first night here, as we are new to Chicago. After we finished our ice cream, my husband goes to throw out the trash and is confronted by a waitress. She mentioned the next time we come we should park on the designated side for it. Ok cool. We have no problem doing this, our fault. Until she decided to escalate the situation. My husband is bending down to wipe up some icecream that spilled in his seat before we leave. This broad decides to squeeze between my husbands cracked door and the car next to us to give the patron her ice cream. While doing this she was crushing my husband between his truck door. I try to live a peaceful life, but I saw red and it was about to be a problem. The audacity of this entitled person. Fortunately for her, everyone in my truck had the moral sense to calm the mood back down. So Im notifying you of your problem child. Train your employees better, because not everyone will walk away from an your aggressive actions...
