A Taste of Uruguay in Every Bite – Rombiolo Bakery I visited Rombiolo, a Uruguayan bakery that came highly recommended, and I was truly impressed with everything I tried. I picked up some masitas, bizcochos, and a torta chajá, and each item exceeded my expectations.
The masitas were fresh, beautifully made, and had that homemade quality you only find in traditional bakeries. The bizcochos were outstanding—flaky, flavorful, and perfectly balanced between sweet and savory. Ideal with a cup of coffee or mate.
But the highlight was the torta chajá—absolutely delicious. Light, fluffy layers of sponge cake with meringue, cream, and peaches that melted in my mouth. A true Uruguayan classic, and done exceptionally well.
The service was friendly and efficient, and the shop itself is clean, well-organized, and clearly run with care and attention to detail.
If you’re looking to experience authentic Uruguayan flavors, Rombiolo is a must-visit. Highly...
Read moreThe food they sell is great, but it is definitely not worth it due to the horrible customer service. Went with family members. All together we spent almost $200 with all the orders we placed to eat there and to go. But from the moment I said “buenas, que tal” on the other end I was received with attitude and bad manners. It was so bad, I asked one of the other girls who I could talk to about it and they looked at me in a way it said they couldn’t tell me. Then my brother in law saw the owner walk in and started complaining to him, but he basically did nothing about it, while the blond girl just laughed at us. Then he walked outside and apologized saying they are young and that’s it. The rest of the girls there had good manners, but unfortunately the one taking care of my order was so bad. That being said, they lost a customer, don’t waste your money on unappreciative vendors. The owner was there and did not even try to fix the...
Read moreWhen we first moved here from New York, we were excited to find a bakery nearby. We regularly purchased lattes and ham and cheese croissants, which were consistently good. Unfortunately, I’ve stopped going due to the poor customer service.
Despite always being polite and understanding that everyone has off days, the staff, specifically the women taking orders, consistently responded with rudeness and attitude on every visit. After giving it multiple chances, I decided I can no longer justify spending my hard-earned money somewhere that treats customers poorly.
The food is enjoyable, but customer service matters. I hope management considers the feedback provided as I am not the only one that has experienced their poor...
