This was our first time going to a movie theater in two years, last time was about two weeks before the shutdown in 2020. Typically we went to AMC at Stratford mall however they are permanently closed. My first impression was the lobby is dirty (popcorn everywhere) and I didn't see a single staff member.
I came to see The Batman which was $4.50- great deal! The size of the theater is nice and the seats are super comfortable! They get major points for comfort and I live that there is a decent amount of space between each row (I hate knowing people are sitting so close behind me).
This is what bothered me the most... the movie was very dark! Yes, The Batman is a visually dark movie however they should've adjusted the brightness accordingly. I even thought the projection quality was too dark during the previews which I hoped it wouldn't be an issue during the actual movie after the lights go out but that wasn't the case. It was hard to make out some visual details just because how dark it was.
Look at it like this, if you were watching a video on your iPhone and the screen light is dimmed to all the way down, the video wouldn't be so viewable. The same thing here. Very disappointing. I can look past the messy lobby and somewhat dirty bathroom but I came for the movie and it was so dark that it was hard to make everything out.
I did bring this up to a manager about 45 minutes into the film however nothing was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis has been our go-to theater in the suburbs since everything opened back up. Itās way less expensive than other theaters in the area, for both tickets and snacks. They have reclining seats that are super comfy. Itās a bit of an older building that could use some remodeling, but the actual experience of watching the movie is great.
The only thing is that we have never seen anyone checking tickets. It seems that anyone can just walk into any movie without paying and nobody will do anything. Obviously, thatās the theaterās decision and Iām not a cop⦠but there was a group of teenagers that snuck into the last movie we saw there and completely ruined it for everyone. They showed up 30 minutes before the movie ended and were talking loudly, laughing during the quiet serious moments of the movie, jumping over the seats, taking pictures with flash, etc. I couldnāt tell you a single thing that happened in the movie since they showed up because they were so distracting. I feel like if the theater had someone checking tickets, they wouldnāt have gotten in.
I will definitely still go back to this theater, but not for movies that I have been highly anticipating. For those, I would rather go somewhere else with more security so the movie doesnāt get ruined...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family loves to see movies here. The seating is comfy. The concessions are reasonably priced, they even have $1 hot dogs that are delicious! They always have a children's movies each week. My girls love the kids snack box which has a small drink, some popcorn and a healthy snack everytime we are here. Some changes since COVID, they do have first run movies. Prices have increased. Staff is always friendly and overworked when more than one movie is starting at near the same times. Plenty of lot parking. Comfy chairs. Cheap tickets but concessions are a bit on the steep side. We attended the movie show today and were happy to see many other people there too. Come early for snacks, the staff is efficient and friendly but if two shows are starting it may take more time when not everyone knows what they want or ask for a lot of snacks. May 2023: still playing first run films. Tuesday is $5 picture day. There will be children's movies playing on two days a week with only $1 admission or $4 with a children's combo snack. Great for a fun summer event seeing favorite...
