Coaches Sports Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Bloomington

I was staying in town for a business trip and met up with some of my colleagues who stayed at the Hilton. We decided to do a little Happy hour at this spot. The place looked great and we sat at the bar right around 4:45pm. We thought no problem. But the bartender was horrible. He just didn’t care about us. We had to remind him we wanted some food with our drinks. He kept walking away and would be prepping for something that never happened. It’s like he was planning for 1000 people to arrive but he missed the 12 of us all around the bar who were thirsty. A hopeful experience gone wrong. Came there with my little one and sat down and waited to be seated. There could not have been more then 10 people there but it was 10 minutes before someone even came to sit us. After we ordered a burger and friend and the little one had corndogs and fries. I asked for it to be medium well done, when it came out it was burnt on the sides and pink-ish in the middle. It was not the worst burger I have ever had but definitely below what I would like. The fries were underwhelming and much too hot. I ended up paying 31 dollars including tip when it was all said and done. Coaches is a must if you're in town. Dripping in IU memorabilia and plenty of TV's it's a great spot to watch the game. They have local and imported beer as well as a good liquor cabinet, all reasonably priced.

The food is amazing too; as somebody who eats way too many chicken wings, these are great chicken wings. On a different visit I tried the pork tenderloin which was also delicious; you can tell it's brined and breaded in house.

The staff I've met during my visits (Joe, Josh, Stephanie) are fantastic too; friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the food and drink they serve.
