I will never return to The Vid again. My friends and I went out for my friend and his twin's 21st birthday. The doorman (Mike) informed my friend and his twin that their IDs were "clearly fake" and gave them the option to leave with their IDs or try to get in and have to cops called. My friends chose to stay since their IDs were real. We all waited at the entrance for the cops to arrive and stayed there while the officers ran the licenses. Once the cops arrived he was trying to convince the officer that the IDs were fake. He was overall rude about the whole situation. Lo and behold the IDs came back real and me and my friends (about 10 total) all left the establishment. Mike was rude to us during the endeavor and attempting to convince the officers of one thing instead of just letting them do their job. I have been to this bar many times with my friends and never had a problem until recently. I showed up with a seltzer in my hand and was looking for a trash can while I waited in line. Once I got to the front the bouncer said you cannot have that can in here you need to leave. I tried to explain to him it was empty and I was looking for a trash can but it wouldn’t listen to reason. I went outside to throw it out and when I came back in he said bringing it in was a felony and if I didn’t leave (even though the drink wasn’t in my hand anymore) he would have my removed. I was separated from my friends at this point and severely disappointed with the aggressition in his tone and trying to scare me with legal terms (I’m a law student). This is the most disrespectful place I’ve been to. The guy at the door offended me and my friends. I showed him a valid unexpired visa, even though you DONT need an unexpired visa to be lawfully in the US. You only need a valid I94. He then called me back to “tell me” the rules by saying “Hey pal come back here I’m talking to you.” Why did he say that, if I already had showed him my visa? I’m following the stupid rules and he calls me back for what? Then he didn’t allow my friend to enter because he had an Italian ID. It’s simply ridiculous that this place inspects your ID for 5 minutes AND makes requirements that go beyond the very requirements you need to be in the US. If you are international, don’t go to this place if you value your dignity and want to feel respected...
