So I come here every once in a while since it's on my side of town... But everytime I come within an hour of closing, I feel serious pressure. For the past few years, the same guy at checkout makes an announcement across the store claiming they close in 10 minutes, when in actuality, they close in 16. Again, not a huge deal, but it makes me feel unwanted. He's been doing it for years. Additionally, tonight they blocked the entrances 15 minutes early as well, so no one else that gets off late can run in and grab a few things. I came here tonight because besides Meijer, it is the only other store in town that is open past 11 PM due to covid. If anything, you'd think they'd be more sensitive and understanding. I never had an issue like this at the Jewel over off Cottage. They are so much more friendly there. The final straw that made me feel compelled to immediately leave a review is that tonight, I was in the baby aisle grabbing my toddler some much needed snacks and he specifically paged the phone in my aisle and announced the store was closing in 10 minutes (still 16 minutes early) rather than doing the usual announcement throughout the whole store. It made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I wish they'd either get a new attitude here, or bring in self checkouts so I don't have to interact with someone annoyed of...
Read moreMy wife and I went into Jewel tonight looking for some snacks. We looked up and down the aisles and could not find the candy aisle. We swore it was in one of the earlier aisles, but could not for the life of us find the candy. It was as if we hopped timelines.
As we stood there, scratching our heads, an employee must’ve seen the desperate look in our eyes and came over to assist. His name was Louis and I was beyond impressed.
He explained that the candy was in aisle 7, so we weren’t crazy, but it was moved to aisle 14, as they were making some changes. He continues to explain that one of the earlier aisles had recently expanded. I was quite impressed with his knowledge of the store. We thanked him for his help, but he went a step beyond and stated he would meet us over there.
So we go to the candy aisle and look around. He does keep his word and meets us over there and even recommend peach licorice, as it was a season item he further explained. Fantastic customer service.
My wife and I talked on the way home that we haven’t been going to Jewel as much often, but will certainly be coming back more often as a result of the impressive customer service.
You just don’t see that very much anymore and it was a great way to cap off our Friday evening! Absolutely recommend! Say...
Read moreIf I could give a negative star I would! We ordered online and had $87 in savings which was awesome! Yet when I pick up the order we are charged the full amount close to $300. Then I wait on hold for 2 hours no answer and my wife gets a hold of someone says they had a glitch in their system and they would look into that. So we are out $87 while they look into it. The next day I check the account and we got doubled billed for the groceries! I call in and am told even though we paid online at checkout they put a hold on the account which never showed up the first day at all! So now we are out an extra roughly $380 till the bank opens to release this money. If they don’t then we get to call back in. So they can take our money no problem but I have to wait 3-5 business days to get my refund! This could easily put a family over their balance due to a glitch. Plus when I asked to talk to someone I’m told I can’t they will file a complaint on my behalf. I will promise you I will never shop at jewel again! This is a horrible horrible process. We would have just went into the store to save the extra instead of getting screwed over and told nothing we can do but wait. STAY AWAY...
