Patti Jo's — Restaurant in Bloomington

I ordered on Doordash during my lunch break; I ordered a beef manhattan, the green beans with red potatoes, and mac and cheese. The first thing I noticed upon opening the box was that there was no gravy on my manhattan - there was some liquid, but it seems like that was just from the meat. In my opinion, the gravy is the best part of the meal, so that was the biggest offense. If the gravy had been there and it had been good, I could've maybe forgiven the small portion size (I've never had a manhattan with just 1 piece of bread before today. Surely the price they charge for this should cover another piece of bread per order), and the overall blandness of everything. The mac was watery and I could tell there were no seasonings in it, not even a little pepper. The green beans and potatoes were fine, but still lacked flavor. I found it strange that they were supposed to be red potatoes, but were clearly russet. On further inspection, the photo on doordash doesn't appear to show red potatoes either. Not a big deal really, but why go out of your way to say "red potatoes" if that's not what you have? The meal also came with a plain Hawaiian roll, and tellingly, it was the best part...

This meatloaf was chopped up and doesn’t visually resemble any meatloaf pictures on your instagram, or any meat “loaf” - why was I given meat chunks? It’s not like it was a door dash order that fell down the stairs; I picked it up in person and, okay, it was in the evening, and maybe you didn't want to throw the last bits out. But take that home and make a shepherd’s pie, once you make some new mashed potatoes, which had also run out. Does it seem okay to charge $13.50 for this container? What are the three potato chunks doing there? If your concept is to do a couple old fashioned comfort food dishes, for God’s sake do...

In my fives years as a student at Indiana University there is not a restaurant that matches the quality and price of Patti Jo’s. The food makes you feel like you’re right at home. You can grab two meals for the same price you’d pay for just one at any other restaurant...
