Such good food and friendly service. Today, when I walked into Inkwell with my three rambunctious children in search of a suitable and immediate lunch oasis, I was worried we would be a little out of place - but was desperate!
We were approaching the danger zone of needing to feed the toddler before he got TOO tired, and he was already melting.
The staff was so helpful, engaging, and welcoming. Not something I’m used to in my city! They got us some samples to sooth the beast while we awaited our other items.
After seated I devoured my gluten free loaded avocado toast. It tasted clean and fresh but had the perfect amount of unique flavor. I was so so impressed.
The two baristas - I forgot to get their names, one young petite blonde woman, and a dark skinned gentlemen with great dreads - were so forgiving and helpful with a smile and laugh. Even when my toddler son literally smashed his whole lunch on the ground causing a ceramic and milk flurry on the floor.
Seriously, the nourishing and healthy food plus warm and understanding made our day amazing! Please thank your employees...
Read moreThe restaurant is very spacious and has some high-end food, which is a nice departure from most of the food where I live in far southern Indiana. Where there's room for improvement is purely a matter of conscience.
I don't need to see a bunch of rainbows and Black Lives Matter memorabilia to feel welcome. They have the right to put whatever decorum they want to, but if this is truly a free country, and I believe it is, why cater to or dissuade anyone because they do or don't believe that stuff? The Bible and the United States Constitution both say that we are created equal, so there's no reason to propagate ideas that were already true since the beginning of the world.
But I am not saying this to judge you, but to actually help you bring in more people, some of whom aren't as welcoming and pro-business as I am. Nothing has the potential to bring a business down more than the woke agenda. I know it's Bloomington and progressive ideas rule the day, but I hope to see the flavor of the day fade...
Read moreLet me start off with our food and coffee was very good. Unfortunately I was not impressed with our service. My husband and I come a very small community. We do not fit in to the college town setting and we are very aware of that. My husband walked up to the register just as we watched a few people in front of us do. Before he could even start his order the worker says wow can we step back over here behind the glass. I brushed it off then and just thought to myself whatever your personal preference is. Then we sat down and ate our food. I watched SEVERAL more people that came in after us walk straight up to the cash register and get even closer to this worker than my husband ever was. Then I knew it wasn’t “COVID” it was how we looked and how we talked. My husband and I will not be going back to this establishment. It is very sad that these same people are “fighting” for equal rights, yet they can’t even be civil to another human that doesn’t look or...
