Yogi's Bloomington — Restaurant in Bloomington

Service (host or guy in charge of talking to people past 11:00 pm - skinny dude with a silver chain) was solely to blame. Here is a summary:

left us to wait at the door for 10+ minutes in a nearly empty restaurant that was fully staffed was upset friend used bathroom after 10 minutes of waiting told us “people” couldn’t read got upset Foreign friends had alternate ID (Passport and FOID) Further escalated things when I asked him why he was giving us a hard time

It was a seat yourself and no one came for 10+ minutes when the place had maybe 3 of 20+ tables occupied. Got fed up because we had to use the bathroom and did. On our way back to the front to hopefully get seated we get confronted about not waiting by the host, we explained the situation, he still says “people just can’t read,” - not a great start. We have to wait another 5 minutes while he chats to a group of girls. He finally arrives and asks for our ID’s…

My friend one friend has a passport (valid ID obviously) has a FOID card (also valid ID that has also been accepted at other bars) and thinks it’s problematic and lectures his wallet construction and how he should never give people this card. He continues pestering my friend and I interject “why are you being an A hole,”, he gets combative, I tell him we are paying customers and that there are options and ask why he is treating us this way, he tells us to leave, notes that “it doesn’t matter” if we do, and we leave.

I’m writing a review just to say that whoever the guy is should not be customer facing and the manager (or guy I think is the manager because he had the only Yogi’s polo) did nothing to rectify...

Ive been excited to try this restaurant for a while but was extremely disappointed last night. The waitress was extremely sweet though.

Online & at the door it says they close at 1 am and 12 on sundays. We got there around 9 pm and by 10 they were closing. I asked a the bartender if they closed at midnight and she said “nah we close at 10:30” and turned off the light literally right behind me. My partner and I are both former servers so we felt uncomfortable being there that late as they were closing.

The menu states sundays signature cocktails are $2 off. When we got the bill they were full priced. She did end up taking it off though.

Lastly my boyfriend ordered a wrap and I ordered a burger. Both without tomatoes, mine without lettuce as well. My boyfriends wrap came with tomatoes. My burger came with lettuce. I sent it back, I have an extremely bad aversion to lettuce. It took a while Which I didn’t mind. But when I opened the bun I could see pieces of lettuce still in the burger. Meaning they just did what I could’ve done at the table.

My first and last time here. I only gave it 2 stars because the decor is cool. The food was so bland. We ordered the starter nachos with chicken. The cheese sauce was good. The chicken had no flavor. The guacamole was absolutely tasteless and I asked to send it back. It tasted like smashed avocado, not even salt added. We also ordered the chicken parm. It tasted ok, but came out with bare noodles and a blob of sauce and chicken in the middle. Not appetizing upon first sight. We also got a chicken ranch smash burger with loaded fries and mac and cheese. Again, same story with no flavor on the burger and sad to say the cool ranch dorito cheese was a let down. The fries were actually quite tasty. They had some seasoning on them and tasted good. The mac and cheese was the worst thing next to the guacamole that we received. It should have been called macaroni and pepper. There was no cheese flavor at all! Sweet tea and diet coke was ordered and the tea was not sweet and the diet coke was very watered down tasting.
