We arrived on a Sunday morning at 10:05. It took about 15 minutes to get seated than another 45 minute wait to get our food. I understood the wait to get seated what with leaf lookers and apple pickers visiting. But a 45 minute wait to get your order is way too much. Not one time did anyone come over and explain or say they were sorry for the wait. I did notice that two couples who came in after we did received their food and left before we ever got our food. I asked where our food was and it magically appeared a few minutes later. I don't know if our order was lost, or got out of order in the kitchen or what, but we were not happy campers. I can understand getting overwhelmed with lots of people, but for goodness sakes, let people know what the heck is going on. The waitress was friendly, and we usually leave good tips but not this time. You can't blame them for what the kitchen does, but not even keeping us informed was not a sign of a good waitress. After our food finally arrived she did say sorry that it took so long. But that was little comfort. The food was good but not 45 minutes good. Also, I was charged $1.00 for something that I can only assume was for the pumpkin pancakes. Which I wouldn't have minded except I wasn't told that there was an up charge. When we went to pay, the lady never asked us how everything was. She probably knew not to. The right thing to do was to offer a discount because of our wait. But nothing was given except for a $12 bill for a small veggie omelet, 2 pumpkin pancakes and a cup of coffee. Won't...
Read morePete's Place is okay for low maintenance sustenance. While the service was great, we were seated in a side room where it was lit with very bright ceiling lights with no natural light, this was near the cash register and bathroom. It was also close to other tables including a table of men that were having a good time, but talking loudly and the sounds echoed in the small area making it difficult to talk with those at my table. The area where the main door is felt very cozy and had a cabin feel, I wish we were put there instead. The food was not too pricey but the quality was just meh and it wasn't super substantial without getting items a la carte. I got the French toast and there were 2 slices for $7. I ordered bacon on the side for another $5. It was fine. My husband ordered a dish with 2 sides, 1 of them being the oatmeal. It was super dry and seemed like it was made hours earlier, not very edible. They had no dairy substitutes for milk/cream. For the ratings of this restaurant, I was disappointed with the quality of the food and atmosphere, was really...
Read moreI have been going to this place for a long time. Almost weekly with my family of five. But as of tonight i will not go back. We have had the same server there every time and she is great! My wife and her are good friends and have common ground... they are both cancer patients. She is undergoing chemo therapy and preparing for surgery. She has been working during all of this. Well they started treating her badly since finding out she had cancer and fired her stating she wasn't taking care of customers. Well we personally know better than that. She is an inspiration for people that are going through this extremely painful process. Not to mention they made her wear a wig because "it bothered customers to see her with no hair". Shame on this company! I work with a VERY large amount of local people in blue ridge on a daily basis and will share this with as many as possible. I even think a call to the...
