First customer in line as the opened. I ordered a iced caramel macchiato, bacon egg& cheese biscuit meal, and a sausage egg & cheese McGriddle meal with an extra sausage egg& cheese McGriddle sandwich. I pulled to the first window as instructed and nobody was there. I paused for a bit then drove to the first window. The lady at the window chastised me for coming to the 2nd window although nobody was at the first one. She was immediately defensive “we were helping someone out” I’m the only customer inside or out. After some snide remarks under her breath, the manager hands me the coffee and goes to make change for me. Upon his return with the change and soft drinks, he says “here’s your three McGriddles” I said “no, one bacon egg and cheese biscuit meal and the other are McGriddles” he says” yeah, yeah it’s right” Fast forward 15 to get home and it definitely wasn’t right. He had placed a McGriddle in substitution for the biscuit I ordered. I called and after 10 or so rings he answers, I’m more than welcome to bring the sandwich back to him and exchange it for the right one. That’s a lot of burden for me when it wasn’t my mistake. I’ve just got off work and ready to sleep a few hours before getting up with my kids. I was given the option to “hide it from my kids” to make sure it was still available as “proof”. I need sleep more than playing keep away with a disgusting McGriddle so I drive the 15 minutes back to get the biscuit I ordered originally. This is why people go to chick fil a. Seriously, time is money and it’s 30 minutes of someone else’s stupid that robbed me of some shut eye. Do these mistakes really warrant employees of this level who don’t put much attention into detail warrant $15/hr? I’d like to be compensated for my time first. If the mood strikes for a bacon egg and cheese biscuit again, I will go to chick fil a and abandon the likelihood of this happening again. Byyyeeee McDonalds. Tried to love it but your error and inability to manage and appease a customer is enough to...
Read moreIn terms of food, this McDonald's serves quality to par for what you can expect from a the chain, so there's no need to really touch base on that front. So lets focus on the restaurant itself. I'll be focusing on dining in rather than the drive through.
This location was just renovated, bringing it up to the new, more automated standard the chain is adopting. What this really just impacts is that instead of telling your order to a clerk, you create and submit your order on one of the order terminals near the front counter. While it's easy to cry foul on the whole "removing the human element", the terminals can provide a faster check out for a larger crowd, and you're provided a number to take with you to your seat, in which your food will be brought out to you. This is assuming that you will be dining in of course.
This new system seems to work faster and the employees seem to be working well with it too, as they are able to focus on making and serving food, rather than always having a few stand at the counter to wait to take orders. I rather enjoyed how prompt service was, yet how invested the employees were in getting me my food. And since you can take a seat and wait for your food to come out to you, crowding is hardly an issue.
All in all, I welcome the improvements to the restaurant, and think it helps make the process of eating at McDonald's more streamlined and more comfortable. This particular location seems to have adapted well. Obviously mileage varies mostly on if you enjoy McDonald's, but this location meets the quality expectation. If you're willing to get used to the new way to order, you might find yourself somehow enjoying McDonald's just a bit more...
Read moreThis 40hwy location just went through an extensive update. The food is as always, typical McDonald's food. New to this location are touch pad ordering kiosks. With these you are able to place your order and even make changes to items, such as no cheese on your Big Mac. You also have the option of paying from there or at the register. If you are uncertain how to use the kiosk an employee is happy to show you or take your order at the register. If you are going to this location for a quick bite don't expect much on the way of a cozy atmosphere. The ambience of the new decor teeters between, in my opinion, a prison lunch room, (which in only seen on TV,) and a travel trailer, not the posh kind. The booths have been replaced with Iron and thin plywood topped with laminate chairs and tables. They are flimsy and uncomfortable. There is a tall bar with cushioned stools for larger groups, again the table is thin woods with laminate topping. The floors have a weathered woods tile that is okay. The walls alternate between institutional white tile and blonde paneling. Even getting from the parking lot into the building had become something of a chore. Double rail aluminum barriers force customers to walk around to front of the building or halfway to the rear. Wheelchair bound guest parking are not immune to this madness. In my opinion epic fail of design all the way around. Next time I'll think I'll try the drive through and let you know...
